(Bottle) Pours hazy light orange. Apricot, hoppy, flowery/pine, light youghurt aroma with some fruits, cheese, and syrupy malt. Something spicy. Caramelly, malty flavour with fruits, hops and a bit alcohol-ish. Bitter, citrusy finish.A bit sticky. Medium to full body.

Rerate, 12oz bottle, Batch 59. Pours a hazy, brownish-orange coor khaki head with solid retention and fine-bubbled lacing a really nice pour. Gorgeous aroma: candied oranges, dried caramel, maple syrup incredibly dense, refined, and generous nice lingering mineral-based bitterness minimal alcohol. Great nose. Full mouthfeel: chewy candy sugar, dry caramel and orange peel at this age, this strikes a very nice balance with a chewy, juicy hoppiness (oranges, earthiness, minerals) and an excellent, complex malty core light oxidation this is remarkably good right now. Perfectly drinkable, generous barley wine with bitter edges. Great stuff. Lengthy finish, showing dried caramel, oranges, plenty of fruitiness and lingering mineral hops. 9.4.9.5.19 - 4.6 ... 12oz bottle, Batch 59. Pours a hazy, golden-orange appearance with loads of floaties off-white head with decent lacing. Lots of maple syrup and caramel (slightly oxidized) and orange hops in the aroma very alcoholic. Dense, complex mouthfeel: oranges upfront, lots of maple syrup and brown sugar in the malt profile hints of caramel from the oxidation, but still pleasant. Viscous and filling. Medium finish: oranges and wet malts and rye. 7.4.8.4.16 - 3.9

Hazy orange with a medium lasting off-white to yellow head. Nice floral and citrus aroma, mostly grapefruit. Apples, leather, wood, some wine, even a hint of geuze. Flavour is sweet and doesn’t hide the alcohol, very complex, spicy, port and brandy. Initial fizzyness is soon taken over by a big creamy mouthfeel. The alcohol an sweetness is to overwhelming to make this the favourite it could easily have been.

Pours a nice looking orange-red with a big foamy head. It fizzes initially then settles a cm of off white foam. Stunning aroma, lots of yeast, some sweet fruitiness (apple, plums) and a good deal of caramel. Quite vinious, very soft and creamy mouthfeel. Flavours abound - caramel, sherry, plums, raisins, some chocolate. It ends of fizzing (and even leaving a burnt sensation) on your tongue. Warming and impressive.

I’ve had two Hair of the Dogs and dropped or spilled both of them -- this rating is based off about 3 oz. of beer. Huge aroma, some caramel, hops, fruit (apple). Taste is sweet, pretty thick and oily with some alcohol, chocolate, spice. Can’t wait to get this again!
