Pours a light brown color with a slight off white head. Aroma is of sweet malts caramel, nutty notes with some bitter hops. Flavor is sweet with some woody, nutty notes. Finishes with some bitter hops and alcohol. Kind of a thin mouthfeel.

Pours a darkish amber color, topped by a thick and soft head of tan foam. Great head retention and lacing. Lots of malt and fruit in the aroma – plum (prune?) and fig. The flavor is thick with toffee, caramel malt, dark honey, and orange pith. These flavors are very full, and last into the finish, where they are joined by strong black tea and buckwheat. Some hop bitterness kicks in with the aftertaste, and there is a definite alcohol presence. Full bodied, solid carbonation - fantastic beer for sipping.

on tap at the Hop Devil Grill. Amber, slighlty hazy, small off white head. Aroma is citrus and floral hops along with a good deal of caramel, some fruits such as apple. Taste is caramel and fruity, citrus, almost got some pineapple like notes. Alcohol warm in the finish, but pretty well hidden overall. complex and extremely enjoyable.

Batch 62, thanks to bditty187. Pours a hazy burnt amber, with a very substantial three finger head that takes forever to settle to a thick layer of foam, leaving behind a solid sheeting of lace. Smell; the first thing I smell is bitter hops, which is good since I like a hoppy barleywine. Caramel and toffee maltsare there as well as a little bit of dark fruits. Taste; the hops are there, but not really as strong as the nose lead me to believe. Even so, their presence is welcome and not disapointing at all. The caramel malts come out nicely and adds a very syrupy sweetness to smooth out the hops. In the finish there’s a bit of cherries, and other darks fruits. Mouthfeel is defintely on the full side, with a good drinkabiltiy, that would be higher without the syrupy sweetness.

Tap- Dark, hazzy, and cloudy. Plenty of taste, carbonation, lacing, and hops everything combined in one. Pours a amber brown color with a bit of a copper look to it. Smells great, doughy, chocolate and oaked. Taste is of dry fruit, bitter chocolate and rye bread. Good hops that are a bit spicy and chewy. Great beer!

Taste: Sweet, dry, straw, pine, grass, citrus, grape, resin, flowery, caramel, malty, wood, and a lovely alcho-burn. This is very nice - a little bit of everything - The Best Of Both Worlds !!!!
