Firemoose15 (540), Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 9, 2006 Bottle. Thx JM from the madness gathering. Aroma sweet caramel and floral. Poured a cloudy brown. Flavor was sweet, caramel, apple and toffee. Palate was good nice and warming. Overall very tasty indeed. LennyH (60), Delaware, USA Oct 4, 2006 Updated: Nov 3, 2006Bottle/Batch 65. Dark copper color with a small off white, foamy head (I followed directions and poured slowly to leave the considerable sediment in the bottle). Aroma is caramel and butterscotch. Taste sweet and spicy with a bitter finish. Tastes to me like sort of a cross between a Barleywine and a Belgian Tripel. It’s an interesting beer that’s obviously well made, but nothing I’d like to drink often. fakepurseninja (773), Washington, USA Oct 3, 2006 Updated: Aug 5, 2007Will re-rate next chance I get - did not care for this, maybe was the bottle. BuckeyeBoy (1645), Boise, Idaho, USA Oct 1, 2006 On Tap at Hair of the Dog Brewing Company Pours out a hazy copper topped with a off white head. Very nice barley wine.
