Bottle/Batch 65. Dark copper color with a small off white, foamy head (I followed directions and poured slowly to leave the considerable sediment in the bottle). Aroma is caramel and butterscotch. Taste sweet and spicy with a bitter finish. Tastes to me like sort of a cross between a Barleywine and a Belgian Tripel. It’s an interesting beer that’s obviously well made, but nothing I’d like to drink often.

On Tap at Hair of the Dog Brewing Company Pours out a hazy copper topped with a off white head. Very nice barley wine. A very nice caramel and sweet tast to this one.

Batch 63. Pours a hazy/murky orange with off-white head. Huge aroma of floweryness and a caramel maltyness. Very thick and dense beer. Rich creamy toffee like malt flavors and a flowery aspect. Very gritty earthy element and an herbal hop bitterness, with a touch of woodchip. Alcohol burn is strong on the throat. Complex, nicely done.

Creamy citrus aroma. Big off white head. Slightly lighter than most barley wines I am used to. Thick, malty, alcoholic with a slightly spicy aftertaste. Full bodied with a quick finish.
