12oz bottle pours a hazy pale brown color with some yeast flocculates. Very sweet with some fruitiness and some pepper. This bottle was a little on the flat side.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a gold amber with light head. Aromas of fruit candy. Flavours of candy and sharp rye, with some alcohol in the end. Also had Fred Batch 34 2000 from a 12 oz bottle. Poured a garnet red brown with little head. Aromas of toffee and toasted malt. Flavours of red liquorice, and candy sugar. Still somewhat sweet. Very different from the current vintage. Excellent. 9/4/9/4/17

Batch 90 poured from bottle to snifter. Golden hue with pillowy white head that lingers. Aroma is huge malt, toffee, sugar, vanilla, citrus, honey, graham cracker. Mouthfeel is fantastic with a full body and great carbonation. Taste is sweet throughout but not cloying with a nice slight bitterness in the following and CO2 & ethanol rounding out the finish. Overall this is a really nice brew! It is very fruity from the hops when fresh. I can see it aging very well with the malt backbone.

Purchased at Wally’s in Los Angeles, CA; enjoyed while watching True Detective after a long day of venturing. Appearance is a bright cloudy gold with a large bubbly white head. Aroma is pretty light, with interesting floral notes. Taste is unique, large tropical fruit profile with sweet syrupy malt notes. It’s 10% ABV and masks it pretty well. Good stuff.

This is an awesome barley wine. pours a dirty sediment ridden marmalade color with a ton of soft foamy white head. The aromas coming off this are dizzying. Massive caramel at first, then sweet over ripe citrus. A bit of mango and papaya as well. Flavors are sweet and malty.. Vanilla, grand marnier, citrus, caramel.. and all things good. Finishes warm and boozy. A first rate barley wine.

Very good beer, but a little alcohol forward for the style. And I hardly ever think that...

Pours golden-brown and cloudy with a thick light tan head. Aroma is a nice balanced blend of hops and malts. Taste is exactly the same. The hops and maple syrup flavors lead quickly to some rye inspired malts that then slides into a long bitter finish. Overall, it is rustic and very flavorful.
