Wow, outstanding, I can’t wait to pick up another bottle to age. The intial aroma on this was sour, much more sour than i expected and the flavor had almost no sourness to it, the ultimate sweetness of the beer revealed itself in the next wiff. The palate is perfect, avoiding the stickyness i find in many barly wines. I can’t say Ill be drinking this often cause I am not huge on barly wines, but this was great, the thick white head was beautiful. A bit more bitterness to balance out the sweetness would have made this near perfect, but overall I am thrilled by this beer

I opened the beer and went to sniff the bottle, and I got shot in the nose with beer foam! Either someone shook my beer, or this one has a phenomenal head. There is more foam than beer in my glass right now, and I have been waiting for it to settle for several minutes. I see from past reviews that the amount of head is extremely variable. Interresting.

Smell is green apples, barley, nectarines, and a touch of cinnamon. Flavor is sweet and creamy necter. Peaches, honey, nutmeg, cloves, and ceylon cinnamon. Medium bodied and velvety smooth. Just about perfect. This may be the champagne of the beer world.

Bottle - batch 72. Pours a cloudy burnt orange with almost no head sans for a ring around the glass. Nose is raisins, plums, caramelized brown sugar and alcohol. Taste is toffee, sweet brown sugar, nuts and earthy herbal notes with a slight bitter finish. Very warming brew – doesn’t hide the alcohol very well in spite of its sweetness. Full mouth feel and a bit sticky on the lips. Very good.

Poured a nice golden yellow color with a nice fluffy white head. Aroma was of some spices, and hops. Flavor was extremely smooth somewhat with a belgian candy sugar flavor but with a nice hoppy bitter finish.

Its says ";GOLDEN ALE";, and it says ";made in the Belgium tradition";. And now i see its a barleywine. It doesnt really know what it is. Pours flat with a nice fruity and vanilla nose. Tastes sugary, with cherries, plums and oranges. Palate is super sweet with a big alcohol burn. Finish is herbal and spicey with more alcohol.

12oz bottle @Joe’s NYC Gathering shared by idrinkale–pours a light tan ring with cloudy copper color. Aroma is alcohol, bourbon/oak, dark fruit-plum, sweet. Taste is bourbon/oak, dark fruit-plum, sweet, much less alcohol than expected from the aroma, cherry/herbal.
