3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draught at the brewpub. Peach-yellow-brown color. Flat. Aroma of squash, spices, soft malts. Rich and potent. Sweet squash flavor with honey, some alcohol and spices. Quite flavorful. Soft, silky palate, a bit light. Strange, sweet, a bit cloying, but nice.

1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
12 ounce sample on tap at Brouwer’s Cafe. The aroma on this is lightly fruity, with hints of strawberries. Pretty faint, and not really dynamic. Murky, hazy copper-golden body with a small, weak, off-white head. Starts sweet, lightly sugary, and very undercarbonated. Body is fairly thick and chewy. No hop bitterness. WTF is this? Tastes like wort to me. Most disappointing beer I had in Seattle.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very hazy and and cloudy light brown color with fruity flavor, kind of different without hops (squash instead), but still tastes pretty good.

Draught @ the brewpub
Aroma is slightly sweet and tart with grapefruit, apricot and hay. Flavour is sweet with grapefruit, some peaches, pineapple juice and fruit sugar. Warming alcohol in the finish. Sticky and somewhat leathery palate. A bit odd.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap @ Brouwer’s. Let me say up front I would never seek out a squash beer. But it’s HotD... Gotta try it. Pours opaque brownish orange with super thin head. Aroma is earthy sweet. Taste is funky fruit, slight tartness, grassy herb finish. Yeah, I guess that’s squash in there too. No hops to speak of. Odd beer. It just doesn’t measure up as something you’d drink consistently, but you have to give them credit for having the stones to do a beer like this.
