2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at Brouwerís Cafe.
Pours muddy brownish with two finger big bubbly chalk white head, quick dissipation. Smell is squash, sweeter veggie, a bit earthy. Taste is bland, squash and veggies, sort of like a light bodied abbey ale, but sweet. Thin mouthfeel. Interesting and drinkable, but I donít really want to try it again.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Brouwers. Pours a transparent orange-amber. Sweet, malty aroma. Flavor is also quite sweet, and the lack of hops to balance out the sugary squash is definitely noticeable. Squash flavor is quite mild, and it seems like the vegetable contributes sugar sweetness more than the flavor is squash flesh.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
3oz pour at HotD. Pours a cloudy, yellowish-amber color with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet, fruity, floral. Medium on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, bready, the squash comes through, but isnít overpowering, with a sweet, fruity finish. Zero bitterness, which would makes this even better. A very interesting for a hopless beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear yellow color with a medium white head. The aroma sweet fruity and melon notes. The flavor is a rich caramel and sugar, some dried fruit, light vegetal notes. A bit odd/interesting.

0.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
It was ugly and gross. No hops in this one, and it proves why that is a bad idea. Looked like hell as well. Nasty.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clean and clear aroma w/ some fruitiness and a bit of yeast. Cloudy, dark straw. Minimal head. Slight alcohol is noticeable through the light wine-like flavors. Bit vegetal. Decent carbonation and light fruit in finish. Very refreshing, works quite well with squash subbing for hops.

Draft @ HotD. Pours a mostly clear yellow with great white lace. Aroma of sugery/honey fruit and mild grain. Taste is sweet, grainy, with some honey and spice. Mildly refreshing. This was a very interesting brew.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at HOTD. Pours to a hazy straw colored body with a white head. The aroma is slightly sweet pilsener malt. Mild alternative sourced sugards. The flavor is sweeter pilsener malt than expected. It must be from the squash. Almost like a cardamom, but that could simply be a mild astringency. The palate is smooth and medium light bodied.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught from the brewery. Hazy golden appearance with a strong head. The bartender had quite the difficult time pouring it, because it was quite carbonated. Prickly carbonation on the tongue. Not a lot of squash is hitting my taste buds. Iím getting a TON of that pilsner malt. Subtle vegetable backing, but I wouldnít say that it could be easily identified as squash; however, there is a distinct earthy/vegetable taste to the beer. The beer seems to settle quite a bit, carbonation wise. I love Hair of the Dog stuff, but I donít know, this beer seems to be dominated by that pilsner malt flavor. The squash addition seems to play only a minimal role. It was quite the pungent brew (Iím speaking in past-tense because I had this last night), but I didnít get much squash. Overall, this was a unique experience, but I was expecting a different dimension. Iíve been waiting to try this for years.
