Intensiv malziger, sehr süßer Antrunk. Klebrig, intensiv schokoladig, etwas rauchig. Sehr süß bleibend, zum Ende auch etwas alkoholisch. Gut! 11/11/8/8//8

Bottle share in 2013. Pour is dark brown with a minimal tan head. Aroma is chewy sweet grain, smoked barley, dark fruits, and mild booze. Flavor has a bit more fruit - apples, chocolate covered raisins, prune, bourbon, and burnt wood. Finish has some lingering peat and ash qualities. Very good.

I loved this beer. You can taste the layers of complexity in this and the effort and love this was made with. Thank you GT2 did this rare gem. A real treat for me. Pours a muddled brown. No head. Aromas are beautiful. Chocolate, apples, campfire. It all sounds strange... But it works. Flavors are sweet and appley at first.. notes of smoke and a touch of booze and oak at the end. Loved this beer.

Thanks cards04 for this one. Very much like a soft barley wine to me. Chocolate and dried fruit with a touch of nuttiness and wood, oak, dried fruit. Unfiltered dark brown with virtually no head. Kind of thin but smooth palate. Sweet and tasty. Nice beer. Very glad I got the chance to try it.

12 ounce bottle from a trade poured in a snifter. Pour is dark opaque brown with zero head. The liquid is viscous enough to cling nicely to the sides of my glass though. The nose features quite a bit of smoke. In the background I can pick out some oak, tobacco, and a bit of the apple brandy. The flavor is pretty complex, and I can easily say that I’ve never tasted anything quite like it. You get plenty of smoke, smooth oaky vanilla, and wonderful apple brandy. The mouthfeel is full and viscus

Bottle shared @ Dean’s aged pale lager tasting, courtesy of kermis. Pours a clear dark brown beer with a small off white head which quickly disappears. Aroma is massive alcohol, massive wood, vanilla and sugary. Some bourbon, oaky notes are present, but I’m not sure if I’m right about that. Flavor is very sweet, barbecue, smoke, leather, tobacco. Did not expect that at all. There is a slight hint of apples when swallowed. Very complex, layered beer. Long, cloying sweet finish. Great stuff!

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2014 Bottle @ tasting, thanks Chris! Aroma is big chocolate, vanilla, roast, coffee, tar, syrup. Flavour is big chocolate roasty wood, some fruity notes, coffee, liquorice, Great beer, but I like some of the other HOTD beers better than this, so don’t know if it’s "top 50 material". Lovely beer still though.

Bottle at tasting. Creamy brown pour. Aroma is spicy bourbon, chocolate, roasted, tobacco, vanilla and oak. Flavor is massively sweet, creamy and quite woody. Although a little too sweet, it is very smooth and not alcoholic at all for such a high abv. Great brew.

Bottle shared. Pours cloudy dark brown with a ring tan head. Aroma of big caramel, overripe dark fruit, raisins, tobacco, booze, toffee and massive wood. Flavor is heavy sweet, almost cloyingly so and over moderate bitterness hidden behind. Light apple coming out in the finish along with long wood. Full bodied with soft carbonation.
