A- Pours a dark brown hue with little to no head. S- Prune, chocolate, caramel, hints of sour cherry. T- Hints of anise up front, sweet brown sugar notes, lots of raisin and prune, sour cherries fade to a faint coffee finish. M- Thick with medium-low carbonation. D- An intensely interesting beer that leads to a deeply visceral experience. At first I wasn’t quite sure the flavors meshed well for me but after sifting through layer after layer and enjoying it as it warms I have to say it’s up there with some of the most interesting beers I have had the chance to taste.

Bottle from the brewpub. Very complex with dark rich barley wine flavors and finished off with smooth bourbon. Tasty.

12 oz. bottle. 2013 vintage. Looks dark brown without any head. Thick, syrupy sticky dark malts. Hints of bourbon.

Flavor is almost like a barley wine. Flavor is dark fruits, plums and figs, dark burnt molasses, sticky fruits and oak. Texture is on the sticky sweet side. Sweet and oaky. Nice light slap of bourbon in the finish.

Overall this is a damn fine sipper. I enjoy the bourbon underneath all dark sweet malts. Complex flavors.

Grabbed this at BottleWorks for $20 a bottle. 2013 vintage

A - Pours a brown to black, sort of hazy and chocolate colored. No head formed at all. Amber edges.

S - Loads of raisin and currants, Super woody, maple and birch with a touch of cedar. Vanilla and roasted milk chocolate

T - Lots of ABV to this one. You get a lot of toffee, wine tannings, grapey persimmon, kiwi, chocolate cake and pudding. Peated as all get-up

M - This coats the tongue like no other beer. Very oily and thick

O - This can definitely use a lot of age but it’s an incredible brew. try it if you can.

Thanks Sam! Pours super dark brown with a small light brown head. The smell is caramel, booze, dark rich fruit, brown sugar. Taste is super rich, caramel, molasses, brown sugar, dark rich fruit ending with a little alcohol tingling. Full bodied with mild carbonation. A landmark beer.

Intensiv malziger, sehr süßer Antrunk. Klebrig, intensiv schokoladig, etwas rauchig. Sehr süß bleibend, zum Ende auch etwas alkoholisch. Gut! 11/11/8/8//8

Bottle share in 2013. Pour is dark brown with a minimal tan head. Aroma is chewy sweet grain, smoked barley, dark fruits, and mild booze. Flavor has a bit more fruit - apples, chocolate covered raisins, prune, bourbon, and burnt wood. Finish has some lingering peat and ash qualities. Very good.

I loved this beer. You can taste the layers of complexity in this and the effort and love this was made with. Thank you GT2 did this rare gem. A real treat for me. Pours a muddled brown. No head. Aromas are beautiful. Chocolate, apples, campfire. It all sounds strange... But it works. Flavors are sweet and appley at first.. notes of smoke and a touch of booze and oak at the end. Loved this beer.

Thanks cards04 for this one. Very much like a soft barley wine to me. Chocolate and dried fruit with a touch of nuttiness and wood, oak, dried fruit. Unfiltered dark brown with virtually no head. Kind of thin but smooth palate. Sweet and tasty. Nice beer. Very glad I got the chance to try it.

12 ounce bottle from a trade poured in a snifter. Pour is dark opaque brown with zero head. The liquid is viscous enough to cling nicely to the sides of my glass though. The nose features quite a bit of smoke. In the background I can pick out some oak, tobacco, and a bit of the apple brandy. The flavor is pretty complex, and I can easily say that I’ve never tasted anything quite like it. You get plenty of smoke, smooth oaky vanilla, and wonderful apple brandy. The mouthfeel is full and viscus
