A delicious unique beer. Haven’t tasted anything quite like this before. Pours a nice dark amber, no head though. Smells great like bourbon and peaches. Taste starts with some bourbon, and then the peach comes in. The two work perfectly together, coming in waves and blending nicely. Also some marzipan and coconut in the finish. Ir tastes very much like a white port. Damn good! Had on tap at the brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Another gorgeous beer from Hair of the Dog. Fuzzy brown, thin head. Peach and malt aroma. Very full bodied with oak, malt, peach notes. Warming malt finish. No alcohol burn

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy brown color without a head. Starts with intense bourbon flavors that burn off to reveal the peach. Overall a little harsh.

On tap at brewery. Opaque burnt apricot/dark amber, with no cap. Aroma of vinegar and tart peach, wood, bourbon. Taste is peach, wood, bourbon and more bourbon, candied sugar. Coasts the mouth with sweet sweet candy.

On draught at Hair of the Dog. Dark, golden amber color. Oaky, sweet caramel, and fruity aroma. Taste of bourbon, peach, plum, and wood. Really warming feel and sweet syrup aftertaste.

On tap at the brewpub in Portland, OR. Pours a cloudy, amber-orange-gold colored body with a thin, creamy and frothy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is bigger bourbon up front with a sweeter caramel and vanilla. A light peach comes out more as this warms with a bit of a bready rye spice, wood, and butterscotch. Flavor is similar. Bigger bourbon and sweet caramels with a good amount of vanilla. A bit more peach on the flavor, but still in the background. Touches of bready rye spice, some wood, and a bit of a nutty butterscotch. Finishes a bit hot with lots of bourbon, vanilla, and sweet caramels. Lengthy aftertaste following a full body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, I loved the regular Fred, but the bourbon is a bit much on this version. Itís still enjoyable with a light peach note, but not my favorite. Despite that, not bad and glad to have tried.

On tap at Hair of the Dog tasting room, pours a dark ruby red with a tiny ring of off-white head. Aroma of peach and bourbon upfront, both relatively prominent, with some caramel malt sweetness and brown sugar. Flavour is still as bourbon-heavy as regular Bourbon Fred from the Wood, but now with prominent peach flavours (duh!). Lots of barrels, woody notes and bourbon, a bit of vanilla, the peach well-accentuating the barrel character. Excellent stuff, as always from this brewery. A bit cloying in peach sweetness after a while, holding this one back from being a masterpiece. Still, very enjoyable.

On tap at tap room. Pours hazy ruby/mahogany mix with no head. Smell is mixed soft vanilla and fruit, boozy. Taste balance vanilla and peach, some alcohol. Could be better.

On tap at HOTD Brewery and Taproom. 3-oz. taster. Fruit and butterscotch nose and thick sugary notes in aroma. Rose-tinged dark straw color. No head but a tiny stream of carbonation trickling upwards. Tangy and hearty. Some cheese. Very strong alcohol heat. Maybe not yet quite integrated. Medium body w/ light carbonation. Light warm wine-like aftertaste.

tap. big, sweet and sticky as fred tends to be, but with the time in bourbon barrel itís become almost absurdly hot, green and raw. the peach character adds a small bit of fruit flavor (probably doesnít add sweetness but if it does it would be hard to tell given how sweet fred is in the first place), thatís mostly raw and pulpy. thing is, itís entirely too messy and disjointed. unbalanced levels of sweetness, bitterness and acid, with very noticeable alcohol. probably one of the least favorite beers iíve had from hair of the dog.
