COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This special release was brewed on July 12th and bottled on September 8th, 2005. I used locally grown black currants to give this beer an intense berry flavor. Made with love, reverance and respect for the great beers of Belgium.

Bottle. A strange muddy reddish pink color. Black currants fuel this beer and leave little else in its tracks. Floral notes in the flavor and it finishes with a mix of sweet and sour. Rating from notes.

VERY unfiltered, incredibly murky stuff. Weird stuff. Currant, fruity, quite acidic, not really much beer-wise going on, really more of currant juice than anything else.

Bottle. Cherry aroma with fruity, citrus, and yeasty qualities. Brownish purple color. Opaque. Thick with floaties and white foam. Woody cherry flavor. Lightly sweet and sour with strong woody bitter aftertaste. Hints of dark chocolate flavor. Slightly watery and dry on the palate. Overall it was less than the sum of its’ parts. Tastes like liquified cherry wood. Lacks overall intensity. Try New Glarus Enigma for similiar but more intense beer. Good overall and worth trying though. Not bad at all.

Pours the color of overworked playdoh, where all the colors have been mushed into one mass, with about the same opacity. Nice fruity aroma with some mown hay and lemon zest. The flavor is very nicely balanced between sweet and tart/sour with the cassis probably having dimished over the past year or so since bottling, becoming more a a vague tart cherry flavor. Unusually refreshing for a supposedly heavy beer. Just a little wildness, just a remnant of spiciness.

(Bottle) Sampled at the post-GCBF party hosted by Oakes, "Big Beer Sampling". Nose is definitive cherries; malt mixes with whiskey, sweet frozen strawberries, milky brakefluid and creamer. Good malted blackcurrent base. Very enjoyable.

Very odd body color. Kind of orange pinkish and almost cascading appearance. Currants, fruity aroma. Tart taste. More of an alcohol pop than a beer. Kind of like New Glarus Belgian Red its okay but nothing I could drink a lot of. Oh well, I thought I’d give it a try. I think this might be the first HOTD beer that hasn’t impressed me. But it is unique.

Finally found notes from Immy’s tasting. Mad props out to Immy on a hugh success. Pour was a cloudy pink with a small pinkish head. Aroma was fruity. flavor was a tart fruit.

Bottle courtesy, once again of Dubbercody, and once again thanks for the hook up Jaime! Wow, what a wild pour...I don’t know whether to praise it or condem it. Kinda of a pleasant light-pinkish/light-tan head over a body of an opaque warm-grey liquid...very odd indeed. While it IS intersting to look at, it doesn’t really look all that inviting. The aroma on the other hand is quite nice: currants and yeast seem to be the dominant parties. The flavor works pretty nice as well, a nice bit of currant mixes well with the yeast and floral notes making for a dry and fruity brew without being too sweet or sour. The body keeps up as well, light body and smooth carbonation working with the light aromas and flavors...perhaps a bit watery a spots but pretty solid overall. A nice fruit beer, that despite its appearance would be great to have in moderation with one bottle being enough for two people.

12 oz bottle. Strange pour - pinkish mud might be the best description. Nose is fruity and somewhat floral, with the currants up front. Yeasty flavor draped with currant, some floral notes present. Light sourness. A tinge of tartness in the finish. An ugly looking beer, but it works together well.

Tasting at Immy’s. From bottle. This doesn’t look like a beer, more like someone just pureed up some currents and left the purple foam on top. Weird. Nose is berry, a slightly sour. Flavor is mostly berry, currant I guess, with the triple underneath trying to break through, just not quite making it though.
