COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Rose is named for Portland, Oregon, the Rose City. Originally called Golden Rose, this Beer started life as a straight forward Belgian Tripel and evolved into a Beer made with beets, hibiscus flowers and pink peppercorns. She has always been inspired by the Belgian style known as Tripel, which has a low level hops and is deceivingly light in body for its alcohol strength. This is achieved through the use of imported Belgian candi sugar. Not Brewed since 2005.

Tap at the brewpub. A: Cloudy purple-red. Thin white head. N: Hibiscus, strawberry, pink peppercorn, cracker, vinous grape, candi sugar, coriander, some pine, esters, and clove. T: Goodly sweet, touch tart, a trace bitter. M: Medium body, no alcohol, tickling carbonation. O: Thrilled they brought this one back. It is one of my new favorites - easy to drink with a snappy fruitiness.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a deep, hazy, maroon color with a thin white head. Aroma is fruity, floral, strawberry. Medium on the palate with soft carbonation. Flavor is sweet, spicy, pink peppercorn, some yeast, some grass, floral notes, with a spicy, herbal finish. Very interesting take on a tripel. Glad I got to try it.

Tap @ Hair of the Dog... Poured hazy, cranberry red with a thin off-white head. Vibrant mouthfeel, nice level of carbonation. Earthy, mineral-like notes with hibiscus and berry flavored. Mild sweetness and that doesn’t stick around too much. Easy going finish with some esters popping in.

Tried batch 009 on 3.29.14 with Adam and Chris. Thanks guys. Smell is just candy and some herbs. Flavor is caramel, old cardboard, and some fruit. Not bad, overall. Extra points for being so good at so old.

12oz bottle Batch 20-Golden Rose (Cellar)-46° in Trappist Glass-Pours a clear ruby red with no head whatsoever. Aroma of fruits and yeast. Taste of the same with a bit of malt coming in on the back end. This medium bodied brew is not bad but would of loved to have tried it fresh.

12 oz. bottle. Labeled as Golden Rose with a batch number of 9 on the label. This is one old ass bottle!! When was batch 9? Got in a trade awhile back. Aroma is fruity yeast and candy sugar.

Flavor has some cardboard but is real drinkable. Fruit is here with hints of yeast and traces of cardboard dipped in honey. Mouthfeel is light and syrupy. Sugar traces.

Really it’s amazing how well this held up over time. Kind of impressive.

Thanks Chris L for this treat. The bottle looks VERY old. Label says "Golden Rose" Batch 009

A - Looks like flat cream soda. Crimson and gold.

S - Nose is slightly oxidized, floral and lots of herbs with caramel and candy.

T - A mild tart taste, bits of cardboard and leather shoe. Very floral, lots of vanilla and red berries. Slightly peppery and dry finish.

M - Thin, oily and sweet

O - This has held up extremely well!
