really not my style of beer, so I can’t really say much about it, but it is very flavorfull.

Cloudy yellowish appearance approaching banana liquer. Intermingling of hops and kolsch in the aroma. This beer has a rather full mouthfeel, but the taste is diffuse. This beer seems very Kolsch-like to me and I stand completely unimpressed.

Surprisingly cloudy! A fairly hoppy brew, but it’s a pleasant bitter flavor that compliments the malt. Ruth is worth a taste, though it fails to attain the stellar heights of Adam.

Great little beer here from HOTDog. Spicy, slightly sour, hoppy and yeasty aromas. Flavor profile is spicy, dry, malty, lightly bitter and refreshing. Nice, lightish body with a clean aftertaste. Cloudy straw color with a medium head. Very good.

I was slightly startled when I poured this one. There is not much of a head and the color is an interesting murky yellow with a slight bit of sediment at the bottom of the glass. Smells a bit odd to me, although strangely refreshing. The initial sip put me for a loop; there was a slight shock when the beer tasted quite different than it looked, if that can be at all interpreted. Great flavor, there is noticeable cloying and I really like the way it sits on the palate. The unique character of this beer really adds to the appeal.

Need a spoon to see the bottom of my glass with this one. Wonderfully yeasty, almost wheat-like. A great thick summery beer. The strong bitterness is well handled and complemented by the citrus.

As I recall, Ruth’s a small beer of Fred, though if that’s wrong--well, you heard it on the internet. I am pretty certain it was named for (brewer) Doug Sprints’s grandmother. In any case, it’s a wonderful session ale. Perfectly unassuming, yet it has a funky yeast quality that seems Belgian, though the brewery claims it’s Wyeast Scottish, so go figyah. Dry and lip-smacking. A HoTD when you can’t quite DO a HoTD. Or maybe a summer HoTD. Oh, I found it in the saison category, which is absurd.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2006 Hazy blond colour. Earthy, yeasty hop nose with light fruitiness. Fairly hoppy, herbal, earthy with moderate bitterness. Light pale malt character. Dry, slightly yeasty finish.

Bright unfiltered gold color and sweet lemon aroma. The flavor is crisply bitter -- refreshing -- with a floral finish. Tastes a little like fresh cut grass smells (rich, fresh, bright). The palate has a lingering bitterness, which isn’t bad, but it sticks around. Nice smooth beer with a sweet bite.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 argo0 (9227) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 23, 2002
UPDATED: MAY 14, 2003 (5/14/03): Aroma is moderately sweet, spicy, and mildly hoppy. Taste is light grapefruit hoppy, with some spiciness. Crisp.
(5/23/02): Cloudy golden in appearance, citric in aroma. The initial flavor is citric sweetness. The bitter aftertaste is a bit off -- there's something in there that works against the bitterness. (5/3/6/3/11)
