Nice hop malt balance - apricot pour with lacy head - peppery hops linger and leave a nice malty aftertaste. They really got the malt/hops ratio down on this one!

(12oz bottle courtesy of JCB for the Near Perfect 10 v. 5). Pours a cloudy apricot color with a huge white head that leaves some sticky lacing. Aroma is some spicy hops, grapefruit, and some cracker. Taste is semi-sweet with some bitterness. Medium bodied with an oily texture. Bitter finish and prickly on the tongue. Decent beer with lots of flavor for 5% abv.

This is a unique incredible pale ale. Ruth balances hops and malts together but there is a strong coriander/mandarin flavor tied to the special hops. Not too hoppy to be an IPA but it pushes the envelope beyond Pale Ales

Strong aroma is malty and yeasty with a pleasant fruity overtone. It pours a typical, but still attractive, clear amber with an OK white head that leaves a little lacing. Fortunately, appearance is this beer’s weakest point. Mouth-filling flavor has a firm malty core with fruity and grassy tones and hints of hops and - is that caramel? Yes, definitely caramel. Texture is smooth as silk, yet lively and fizzy, leaving a sweet, malty, fizzy and slightly tinny finish. Look for it, or trade for it!

Hair of the dog Ruth. On tap at the tasting room... Pours a slightly hazy golden light brown and topped with a vibrant puffy white head... Aroma semi-assertive citrus and grassy hops, def fresh, with a hint of pineapple... Flavors are citrus with hints of tropical fruit. Lightly bitter backing. Lighter bodied but totally drinkable. Grassy earthiness lingers in towards the finish. 7/4/7/4/14

Bottle. Pours an opaque pale gold with massive white fluffy head that left a mountain of froth in my glass. Flavor is complex mix of piney hops, with a mild malt character to balance it out. Very dry with medium to high bitterness. More bitter than I usually like, but very unique, doesn’t taste like most APAs or IPAs I’ve tasted.

On tap @ Hair of the Dog. Golden yellow with a white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, citrus and light malt. Flavor is bitter hops mostly with a mild malt presence for balance. Light body with average carbonation and a dry, clean mouth feel. Nice Pale, clean, dry and hoppy.

12 oz bottle into lager glass. Pours hazy gold with a small collapsing soapy white head. Aroma is piney, but not in a big way. Also a bit bready. Taste is mostly sweet, and a bit bitter and tangy. Carbonation is a bit too low, body is medium. Thought this would be better. Not that it’s terrible or anything. Two sweet pales in a row. My verdict: the Terminal Gravity was a lot better.

6/17/11. 12oz bottle. Cloudy orange pour with a nice off-white head. Orange peel aroma with bitter grapefruit and cream. Sweet, spicy flavor with honey that almost reminds of a saison. Very interesting.
