growler (74), West Virginia, USA Mar 12, 2005 12 oz bottle. cloudy straw color with considerable haze. Foam is comperable to head on steroids. Big head that lasts and lasts. Heavy yeasty aroma like bread dough. Very sweet flavor like old fashion rock candy with a fruity background. A decent beer but a bit sweet for my taste.
TeamTrappist (169), jericho, New York, USA Sep 26, 2008 12 oz bottle. Poured a cloudy amber with a thin white head. Nose was sweet, maybe apricot and grapefruit. Has a sweet flavor to it . Nice smooth medium bodied mouthful makes this an easy beer to drink. Ends with some decent bitterness smith4498 (384), Miami, Florida, USA Sep 23, 2008 Pours a hazy dark golden color with off white head. Light sour grapefruit aroma. Sweet and fruity with some hop bitterness and sweet maltiness. Slightly spicy. Medium body with average carbonation. A very nice beer. travita (762), Lewisville, Texas, USA Sep 23, 2008 Golden color with a light white head. Clear look. Smell is some hops, grassy, malts, yeast. Taste is grassy with a medium bitterness. Pine at the back of the mouth. Decent. nqualls (422), Tennessee, USA Sep 22, 2008 Bottle. This is dissimilar to any other golden ale I’ve ever had. Poured a clear gold with a small white head. Aroma was lacking a little. Main notes were of bread and yeast. Flavor was floral and fruity. Very complex, drinkable beer. Love it.
BelgianBeerGal (978), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 21, 2008 Bottle in Boston. Seriously, this is a golden ale? There’s a lot going on here and I did not expect the complexity. Very fruity and spicy and totally refreshing. My first HOTD brew and I liked it. Exceptional for the style.
