Bottle courtesy of Porcelainbomb (reddit trader). Pours a hazy golden color with sporadic head that fades quickly leaving minimal lacing. Aroma is lemon zest, big sweet malts and bread, and finally some sharp grass. Flavor is an even mix of sweet malt and lemon bitterness followed by a big dose of bitter hops that diminishes into a clean aftertaste. Palate is quite heavy for this style as the beer actually sits and weighs on the tongue and with the minimal carbonation this feeling increases. Overall, this is a strange pale almost like a Pilsner/Pale hybrid based on the flavors that come through with the strong Pils bready malts mixing so much; also the bitterness is almost off-putting as it doesn’t do well with the sweetness and almost turns an off sour. I would like to try one fresh to compare but it’s barely above average for me.

Draught @ Hair of the Dog, Portland, OR. Pours hazy yellowish with a smooth head. Aroma of grainy malts, grass, hay, citrus and lemon. Taste is smooth, grainy malty and grassy with some hay, earthy notes and floral hops. Finish is smooth, grainy and earthy with some hay and citrus. Feels almost like a kellerbier.

At the HofD brewery in Portland-USA. Tap. Hazy dark gold color, off-white head with retention. Nose: the best combination of malts and hops ever. Sweet resin in a medium Amber scented maltiness. Great. Mouth: little carbo, bitterness is balanced and that mild sweet HotD signature. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Aroma of big pulpy orange and some melon. Cloudy old gold with no lace or head. Flavors follow nose with water cracker and a faint hint of butterscotch. Dry finish. Tremendous. Near-world-class.

Rating #1675 - #CBC2015 Beer 60 - Day 4 - On tap at HOTD w/ Ferris.Golden pour with a creamy white head that bubbles away quickly. hops are very fragrant with sweet citrus in the aroma. Mouthfeel is creamy, medium carbonation, and bitter Amarillo character on the finish - but not overpowering, very balanced but quite light in body for the style. Delicious, though not overly impressive..
