3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
As I recall, Ruthís a small beer of Fred, though if thatís wrong--well, you heard it on the internet. I am pretty certain it was named for (brewer) Doug Sprintsís grandmother. In any case, itís a wonderful session ale. Perfectly unassuming, yet it has a funky yeast quality that seems Belgian, though the brewery claims itís Wyeast Scottish, so go figyah. Dry and lip-smacking. A HoTD when you canít quite DO a HoTD. Or maybe a summer HoTD. Oh, I found it in the saison category, which is absurd.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy bubbly orange-yellow with a small white head. Nice lacing. Aromas of citrus hops, fruit, malt and spices. Tastes very juicy and citrusy -- quite refreshing. Medium bodied.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught at the brewpub
Cloudy blond color. A beer rooted in the quality of the malt, and ethereal for its freshness; delicate hops, the mouthfeel has a gentle sweetness, the final is bitter and long.

0.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tumbler on 04.29.14.
A: Flat. No head or lacing at all. Somewhat opaque orange. Sediment is there.
S: Corn or grain first. Citrus, orange, lemon. Itís very sour.
T: Burnt biscuit, bitterness, tangerine.
M: No carbonation.
O: The bottle read that this was unfiltered so I couldnít use that as a gauge for how old this was. At any rate, this was simply terrible. 3 sips into it and it was a drain pour. The was one of the most unbalanced beers ever. It was undrinkable.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the brewery.
A: Cloudy orange color with a foamy white head.
N: Biscuit, pine, oranges, some grapefruit. Toast. Not as complex as I would like.
T: Sweet and lightly bitter.
M: Light body, creamy carbonation, and light alcohol presence.
O: A sweet throwback APA. Hard to rate this when every APA is an IPA in disguise, but itís easy enough to drink.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Picked up a bottle without noticing the date. Ended up being a year old. Pours a clear golden yellow with a full white head. Floral aroma with slight oxidation. Taste is slightly bitter and the "old hops" taste isnít really there. Pretty good actually. Not the same beer but great base.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy golden yellow, head leaves a thick lacing coat. Nose of pine, dankness. Taste has enough malt before a nice wave of bitterness that lingers well after finish. Slightly syrupy mouth. Cool beans dorks.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Old bottle bought a case for $12... Went íoffí... more like funky. Hazy gold visible carbonation and thin white head. Noses must be in horse blanket. Flavor of a Belgian sour, funked out saison or gueuze. Tart and now a bit oxidized. Not a pale ale by a long shot but for $12 for a case, I got a decent american Belgian sour.
