Canned (thanks omhper). yellow colour, small white head, which disappears quickly. Aroma is maize, slight malts. Flavour is surprisingly sweetish with some malts (?) that reminds of Eastern European lagers (and strong lagers). Not even so bad. Dry hayish finish and aftertaste.

Medium white head. Clear yellow body with carbonation. Rice and wine grape aroma with apple notes. Dry-sweetish wine grape and flour taste with floral notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dry-sweetish floral herbal aftertaste with fruity notes. Nice, drinkable, clean. (0.5l can from a supermarket in Macau.)

This has no aroma. Looks very thin. Flavor is simple. A bit grainy, not funky, perhaps a tad bit rice-y. Okay.

Hai Zhu (Kirin) drank in Borneo Malaysia. After 3 days in the jungle this tasted like nectar, but in reality it was just a ’wet’. Pale colour, good aroma and a flowery taste I thought.

Canned. Skunky aroma of bad grains and hops. Pale yellow color, tiny white head that disappears quickly and completely, few lace. Sweet for a lager, skunky hops well present, hints of apple and cardboard. It reminded me of an old damp cellar.

Can (BB 05/2007)
Golden color, no head. Grainy malty, cardboardish "East European type" aroma. Very East European feeling here - maybe it is that raw, grainy malty flavour. Medium bodied and fruity, sweetish notes in the finish. Raw palate but not thin like the most of these Chinese 4-5% beers.

A gift from Hong Kong! The can says "Guangdong Top Brand". Very thin and crisp with some surprising dryness and grassiness. Alcohol is noticeable, which is surprising for 4.7% beer.

(Canned) Pale golden color with a very small head. Slightly alcoholic, fruity aroma with grainy malt and corny hints. Fruity, sweetish flavor with slightly grainy-alcoholic feel and a hint of buttery hops. Quite light-bodied, but not watery palate with medium, smooth carbonation. Not bad for a Chinese pale lager. Feels a bit European Strong Lager’ish, which may be the reason I kinda liked it...

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2009 Had this before, a gift from Per in 2004. Today I drink the can I bought myself in Macau, at the 7-Eleven (Zhuhai is right across from Macau). Golden colour. Thin head. Smells like sulphur and a bit of paint. Body is a bit light, flavour a bit swilly. Every bit as uninspiring as last time I had it.

Bottled. Pale golden, small creamy head. Fruity appley nose. A hint of yeasty acidity. Light bodied with no bitterness. Not good...
