UPDATED: FEB 23, 2003 Had this at an ethiopian restuarant, word to the wise, Don't eat ethiopian food, but as far as the beer goes...it poured a dark brown with a big head, nutty aroma, however very light bodied for a stout & slightly hoppy, nutty finish

Pour is dark brown with a thin tan head...smell is toasty with vanilla, cocoa, light coffee...taste is sweet and toasty with lots of chocolate and vanilla...I think this is a little under-rated...

11.2oz bottle. Murky amber-brown color, with a thin, steady beige head. Sweet and sugary, with a chocolate fruit aroma. Mild, really much more like a dunkel or schwarzbier. Medium bodied, with that Eastern European funky pungence. Overall a pretty decent beer. Some roasty tones. Certainly worth a try.

Bottle. I hunted this down at an Ethiopian restaurant in Berkeley. The lightest looking brown color of a stout I have seen in a long time. The head is a foamy brown. The aroma and flavor is like malt balls, vanilla. I've had this same flavor in some of the Indonesian stouts.

Bottle 330ml @ fonefan
Pours hazy amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt and smoke. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

12 oz bottle from Bottleworks in Seattle. Pour looks like cola, color, carbonation , the head - really everything. Sharp aroma of scotch malt. Taste is really thin bodied, almost like a watered down scotch ale. In a blind tasting, I would have never guessed Foreign Stout on this one. Oh well, Ethiopia, check!

Unofficial Dutch RB Meeting. Brown colored brew. Sweet, malty aroma. Flavor has sweetness, caramel, licorice, roasted malts.
