Delirium (593) - Copenhagen, - MAY 6, 2006
UPDATED: MAY 10, 2006 Draught at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown with a bit of head. Fairly weak aroma of mostly malt, but with a hint of fruit. Flavor is not much stronger, also mostly of malt, but accented with slight fruit undertones. As a microbrewer, Hakodate Beer isn’t anything exceptional, and is a bit pricey, but it’s light-years ahead of what you’ll usually find in Japan (Sapporo, Asahi, and Kirin). Their dark ale is one of their better beers; as compared to their normal ale, the fruit undertones add some interest, but the rest is more bland, so on the whole it’s about on par.
