3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at the fish market. Golden/light amber coloured, small off-white head. Aroma is citrus and grassy hops, bit of maltiness. Taste is similar, bit more body than the pils, more malty. Nice bitterness at end. Slight malty sweetness with a little prickle. Not bad.

Bottle. Hazy amber, stable head. Fruity hop aroma. Quite bitter fruit flavours, hints of metal. Not bad.

My Bottom Line:
This muted English Pale Ale is somewhat of a misnomer with its pear-like fruitiness, lightly honeyed cereals and balanced herbal, wooden hop finale all set at a frustrating whispering volume. Nonetheless, this makes for a competent Golden Ale, and a clean and highly drinkable one at that, and that’s what matter here.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam skirts the deep golden.
-Again, the effervescence in their beers (on tap, anyway) is a bit too much.
-Some citrusy hoppiness is found, but not that from American hops, mind you.
On tap at the market across the street from the brewery.

Amber golden color with virtually no nose. Hoppy mouth with oranges, apples and a mildly bitter finish.
