wetherel (1033), Carlsbad, California, USA Jul 6, 2008 TimE and I tried this at Popeye’s. Even though it has "brown" in the name, it is supposedly nothing like regular Hakusekkikan brown. Brown color. Small, small bubble head. Mild aroma of some malty chocolatey notes. Taste is dryish. Mild flavor. Somewhat easy to drink. Some roasty bitterness. TimE (1031), Tokyo, Japan Jul 3, 2008 Dark brown color. Port, raisins, milk chocolate, candy sugar exude from the nose. Another hakusekikan winner no doubt! Its not to be. The body is unbalanced and falls apart and fells dead. Portish with some cherries and rainsins, but lifeless. Port and dark chocoaltes linger with no life.
