TimE (1037), Tokyo, Japan Oct 19, 2006 This beer was very different. I had Baird Pale Ale, Shiga Kogen Draft Pale Ale and then this and the scope of what a pale ale is, blew my mind.
This is a deep, deep, deep mahogany color. It looks much closer to a brown ale or a dopplebock than any pale ale I have ever seen.
The nose is very soft with a touch of malty buscuitiness and a touch of hops. The mouth is velvet. I have never drank a softer beer in my life. My friend said it was like something from Trent on Burton Pale Ales. I was amazed. There was a soft soapiness and a touch of toffee flavors in the softness. Mildly bitter finish. Interesting.
