On tap at DDC, 2000 Vintage. Very dark brown, no head. Dark fruit, alcohol aroma. taste is very wine/port like. tart, alcohol, sour, very complex stuff. Could have used another 10 years in the cellar! Great stuff, really neat to be able to try this on tap!

Appearance: Quiet dark, brown black with mid lighter top. 4-
Nose: Ultra rich, fruity, alcoholic aroma. Plum, ripe apples, raisin, honey and alcohol (boozy dry) 7+
Flavor/Palate : Mid full bodied. Strong, very drying effect of alcohol despite 9 year old maturation. Ripe fruity character. This one is one bold sipper. Felt much younger than label suggested.

Brassin 2000. (Rating #2454)

One of two very different beers ,both from this brewery. This one, from 2001 was sour but not sour. Cuvee like apple-juice. The malting made this drinkable. A bit of colour, pretty. understated carbonation led to an average mouthfeel. Lots of white lace after.

Verre de 4 oz, d’un fût chez Dieu du Ciel ! Vintage 2000.

2000 vintage, kindly provided by Nightfall. Deep dark brown color. Dark chocolate and raisin in the port like aroma. Dark chocolate, Mon Chéri bonbons, cherry liquor, port wine and some fairly well hidden alcohol in the malty sweet flavor. Wine barrels. Flavorful, well rounded and a good complexity. Not a sign of tiredness after 9 years. Excellent!

UPDATED: MAY 23, 2009 Bottled (2000 vintage). Dark ruby, no head. Peppery cognac aroma. Sweet and dense. Elegenat with light notes of wood, and plenty of honey and brandy with vinous notes. Under the pear brandy lies some caramel. An intense, compact beer with lots of things to catch your interest.
