COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
SAYURI means "a little lily", which reminds us of the delicate image of Japanese culture. In actuality, the word "yuri", or "lily", has the meaning in floral terms of "chastity" and "innocence", and "SAYURI" is also used as a name for Japanese girls and women. We created SAYURI as an embodied gracefulness of Japan. Using only selected rice and rice koji, this is pure Nigori sake brewed up carefully with the natural water of Rokko.

My first sake, quite interesting. Has a nice creamy feel to it and the alcohol is well hidden.

My first sake rating, so take this review with a grain of salt. Aroma is booze, floral, steamed rice, somewhat fruity. Appearance is milky white, a slight pink hue, a bit of sediment hanging onto the side. Taste is rice, milk, fruit, a bit of booze, reminds me of standard grape wine. pretty unpleasant. Mouthfeel is creamy but light, lots of booze. Overall, hey it’s sake. Not a huge fan, but kampai! anyway.

Bottle shared. Pours milky white. Aroma of light vanilla, coconut, light milky, rice pudding. Flavour is light moderate sweet with a nice rice pudding, light nutty and light alcohol palate. Medium bodied.

pours very cloudy milky with a lot of tiny particles, some lacing. vanilla-flavored rice pudding, sweet powdery candies, booze, flowery and floury, woodsy notes - almost astringent - coconut milk with its nut, lot of minerals - chalk, faint bananas. light carbonation, medium body - oily and almost syrupy; sweet but never cloying; and warming lightly peppery astringent finish. nice relatively complex sweetish offering.

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2015 Bottle (300 ml). Split 2-ways with the lady. Shaken as the instruction says.

Appearance: Looks like coconut milk. Cloudy with sediments floating.

Aroma: Alcohol at first (though it’s not massively boozy) with light fruitiness, overcooked rice, coconut notes and light fruitiness.

Taste: Alcohol, moderate fruitiness, moderate to medium sweetness, coconut water, rice and floral presence.

Palate: Medium body. Milky mouthfeel. A bit viscous too. Moderate warming finish. Mild lingering coconut.

Overall: My first sake rating so take this with a grain of salt (even though a huge amount of ratings doesn’t necessarily translate in good ratings, take czar for example, he is almost at 5K now and is still writing a bunch of BS) [ EDIT ;-) ]. Interesting first try. The alcohol is well hidden. Not really easily drinkable, but somewhat tasty and enjoyable. Looking forward to try a few more and get a better comprehension of Sake.

Bottle pour at School sushi. Very milk cloudy with a light melon taste and maybe some coconut. Enjoyable and good to sip. Boozy.
