3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Coppery hue with a average but ever lasting off-white head and very good lacing. The aroma has notes of piney and earthy hops, grapefruit and berry, toasted malts, minor phenols, pepper and clove. The taste starts has expected with a heavy dose of cascades biting the palate and letting you know this is a beer to be slowly enjoyed. The beer is balanced by the roasted and carmelized malts. The bitters linger on into the night. The feel while biting at first, smooths out and becomes nicely lush, the finish is a tad metallic however. A well made beer and worth another try. Not a world-class IIPA, but then again...so what. Thanks Brian for the bottle.

Copper color. Nice head. Aroma has notes of caramel malt bread. Smells like foliage fresh bushes w dew on them. Fresh bushes and vegetables w caramel malt and soome floral hops a little citrus pine and pepper. The finish is the best part of the beer. Nice and hoppy. Body is medium to full. Lots of fresh leafy, bushy hops. One of Hales better offerings for sure.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bronze golden color with a light creamy white cap of head and some lacing. The aroma is very herbal and dry with some medicinal hop esters coming through. The flavor has a good bite of alcohol in it along with some apples and honey with lots of hops. Finishes sharp, not very refreshing or balanced in the finish. This has all the appeals of an I2PA but not in the right amounts.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Medium slightly hazy orange gold color. Small white foamy head. Aroma is grapefruity and orange. A medium bodied Imperial India Pale Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. Hops are piney, citrus and fruity. Yet another Imperial IPA that leans toward the malts. Nice full flavor. Very smooth tasting. A nice imperial IPA, this is one of Hale’s new “Brewers Choice” series beers. It could be very promising is this beer is any indication. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is bitter.

Received 22-oz bomber via trade with 5000. Pours a semi-hazy caramel amber brew with a creamy off-white head that has excellent retention and lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, iced tea, light caramel, yeast and a touch of white pine. Taste is full bodied, light carbonated with flavors of grapefruit, multi-grain amber and caramel malts, some iced tea and a touch of toffee. Finish is semi-dry and a long lingering bitterness to make this a decent west coast caliper 2X IPA.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark orange body with a slightly off white head. Teh aroma is grapefruit with some light caramel and oak. There is a light fall leaf character. The taste has some sharp grapefruit bite along with a some caramel. The taste also has some metal in the finish. I woudl prefer a little more malt and less of the grapefrui hops. Still, this is a decent IIPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz. Bottle: I’ve had about a dozen of these, and now I am finally going to rate it. Aroma of caramel malt, hops, pine, citrus, tangerine, nectarine, oranges, and some crystal malt. Poured orange in color with a small, off-white head that diminished but lasted around the edges. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of tiny, small, and large particles throughout. Fair lacing. Flavor is heavily bitter and light to medium sweet. Tastes of malt, hops, slight caramel, citrus, orange, nectarine, light pine, slight resin, and some grapefruit. Medium body. Average texture. Average carbonation. Bitter, lightly sweet, hop, caramel malt, citrus, finish. 8.4%ABV is completely hidden throughout.

Pours a copper body with a medium tan head. Aroma is alive with hops but not overpowering. The citrus is there as are the pine notes but citrus seems to be dominant. There's also a nice underlying sweetness to the aroma. The taste is wonderful as well. Hops, but definite citrusy sweetness. Kind of like orange juice with hops, is my best guess. Mouthfeel was a perfect match for this style of beer and the finish has little bitterness. Very drinkable Double IPA. I could hardly taste the 8.4% either. Worth finding!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Bottleworks, pours orangey amber with a white head. Wonderful aroma of piney hops, caramel malts (just enough to balance), grapefruit and mango. The flavour is no less hoppy, with citrusy hops, balanced perfectly with caramel malts. The palate is fruity and leaves a sweet caramel finish. Delicious - really well-made.
