COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Is deep amber in color, full and round, striking a pleasing balance between various hop influences and a big malt body. Great with food, or refreshing on it's own.

Good malt nose and taste. Faintly hopped. Not exactly bursting with flavor but I have a soft spot for this one

The sweet maltiness was balanced perfectly with the hops. A stellar selection from a stellar brewery.

Bottle Pours a deep mahogany that is hazy and with a snall light tan head that dissipates quickly. Mellow toasted grain aromas that is malty and only faintly of hops. Flavors are similay somewhat sweet malts with a little toasted slant and still quite easy on bittering hops. Fairly soft carbonation and a woody chalky trailer.

Spicy, hop aroma. Red-orange in color. Bitter maltiness much like an ESB...a great beer that was a nice take on the style. I was hungover when i drank this....after this beer, I was able to go to two more brewpubs during my brief stay in seattle during the roady. Extra props!

malty/slightly nutty aroma, medium amber hue with a nonexistent head, round maltiness with slight roasted notes and an unpleasant bitter finish

peppery malt aroma, deep bronze color. a robust hoppy bitterness. Big and smooth, especially for an Amber

Probably the crispest amber I've ever had. Don't get me wrong, this is noticeably malty and definitely packs the trademark amber-ness but the "various hop influences" are very noticeable. I'm not bitching either, I thought this was a very nice aspect to the beer, which overall is very bready and caramelly, except for the hops keeping it in check. Not my favorite Hales beer, or my favorite amber, but tasty and satisfactory nonetheless.
