Pleasant nuttiness, not too sweet, A LOT of diacetyl. Very round. Had it more body, would be a great beer.

12 oz. Pours an opaque dark brown with clearer dark brown edges. Virtually no head, lace, or legs. Big roasty nose with a toasty nutshell note. Creamy medium body with decently lively carb. Roast, black bread, and nuts on the mid palate. Certainly appealing enough, just not really complex enough to be very interesting.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Jkripp (141) - Washington, USA - MAY 2, 2011
Irish style nut brown ale is well suited for a dark winter night. Its aroma hints of nuts and chocolate. The color is dark brown and filtered. In taste, first flavor is nutty followed by the chocolate and roasted malts. The beer is medium to heavily bodied and drinks well.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Ughsmash (5835) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 27, 2010
Bottled. Poured clear garnety-brown with a short-lived beige head. The aroma picked up nutty and caramel sugars laced with an odd fruity vinegar character.. smelled like it was possibly a little infected, but the bottle wasn’t old. The flavor found nutty and fruity sweetness at the core.. the sourness was still there, and it didn’t much help.. dried out on the back-end, but it still left residual sugars.. tacky sour fruit skins stuck on the finish. Light-medium bodied with a poor flow across the palate.. this was just off.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 jebert (317) - Watertown, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 30, 2010
Pours a very dark, almost opaque, brown with a small tan head, mostly dissipating. Nose is not pronounced, mostly alcohol. Very creamy on the palate. Predominated taste is the hops accompanied by a burnt coffee/chocolate taste. Pleasing dry finish. Good companion to a deli sandwich and chips.
