3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
[3/3/15] Draught at Hales Ales Brewery & Pub in Seattle. Clear golden. Mild hoppy aroma with a buttery hint. Flavor has a bit of sweetish maltiness, a faint buttery hint and some bitter floral hops. Medium-bodied.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a golden yellow with a delicate white top that dissipates quickly leaving subtle lacings. Malty and subtle hop aroma. The hops really come through on the flavor.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Light golden appearance. Delicious nose. Refreshing, smooth, not super bitter, almost "thin" taste. A nice change from very bitter IPAs.

Plus two bonus points for the 6% alcohol content. Other than that, it is very very average.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle, purchased on 8/10/14 from Brennan’s in Madison, Wisconsin during my stay for GTMW. Unfortunately I only noticed today that the best by code reads 8/07/14. Still going to give it a go, though. No time like the present. Props to this brewery for actually coding their bottles. 90+% of the local breweries I encountered at the market in Wisconsin didn’t bother with that. Totally hazy orange yellow color. Lots of fine particles in the body hazing things up. Thin off-white head, that leaves good, thicker ridges of lace. First sip... Nice, it’s actually tasting pretty good. Much better than expected. Big piney assertive hop, nice apricot bright fruity tropical notes to it, some mango. A lot more hop forward than I’d expect your typical 6% IPA to be, really. The malt is more of a bready biscuity malt, light with the caramel. Bigger bitter taste, light sweet, some zest. Light bit of alcohol? Really, this kind of drinks like 7% plus (no ABV on the label, but it’s identical to the red thing shown here on RB). Moderate bitter taste, moderate sweet. Medium plus body. Smooth, kind of crisp lighter carbonation. Light slick. As I get half way through, more malt sweetness and slick texture comes out (maybe my palate needed warming up). I still dig it, though. Hitting the spot, right now. Much better than expected, pretty good for being technically expired

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Hazy yellow pour with good white head. Aroma of grass, lemon, spear mint. Well balanced with a minty, piney bitter finish. Nice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pale IPA, seems mild at first, but has lingering hops/grapefruit on the finish, and stays on the palate for a while. Interesting take on the style.

2.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours golden, with a thick white head. Very floral aroma and taste. A little sweet. Not quite what I look for in an IPA but overall its not bad.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
a: hazy apricot ale with under a finger of fleeting white foam. This leaves and etched surface. Rare spot lace.
S: grapefruit biscuits.
T: The hops are present, pretty tame for a NW IPA. Hints of pineapple, peach and tropical fruitiness is an undertone to the resin and pine sap hops. The malts are decent with some sweetness and dryness.
M: Medium on thick for they style with moderate carb and dry finish.
O: Very easy to drink for an IPA. Has english tones and some NW hardiness.
