Nut Brown Ale is a dark “session beer” -- lots of great beer character but not too high in alcohol. This ale is well balanced, featuring a distinctively malty structure that makes for very pleasant drinking. 5.2% ABV 14 IBUs Malts: 2-Row Pale ~ Crystal 60L & 120L ~ Victory ~ Chocolate ~ Aromatic Hops: Columbus ~ Mount Hood ~ "Experimental" hop Original Gravity: 13° Plato

12oz bottle poured into an Affligem wide mouth goblet. Beer Date: " Exp: 05.14.15. This just came out recently, so maybe 4 month best by date. So, lets see we have 4 ratings in 2011, 4 in 2012, 1 n 2013, 0 in 2014... well the rating scene in Seattle is growing old. Brown colored beer, not much head. Aroma smells of industrial plastic, metallic, and bug spray. Flavor is similar. Maybe I understand why no one is rating this beer. Its close to being macro level, un-nuanced, industrial flavored waste of fermented malted beverage. Low, even for Hale’s.

Sample at the brewpub. Deep amber color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and nuts. Light-bodied with a roasty character and flavors of sweet malt, nuts and fruit. The finish is sweet with a short nutty aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Pleasant nuttiness, not too sweet, A LOT of diacetyl. Very round. Had it more body, would be a great beer.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is roasted dark malty and caramelish. Mild bitterness, dark roasted malty, light nutty and mild fruity. Ends bitter and dry.

12 oz. Pours an opaque dark brown with clearer dark brown edges. Virtually no head, lace, or legs. Big roasty nose with a toasty nutshell note. Creamy medium body with decently lively carb. Roast, black bread, and nuts on the mid palate. Certainly appealing enough, just not really complex enough to be very interesting.

Irish style nut brown ale is well suited for a dark winter night. Its aroma hints of nuts and chocolate. The color is dark brown and filtered. In taste, first flavor is nutty followed by the chocolate and roasted malts. The beer is medium to heavily bodied and drinks well.
