Nut Brown Ale is a dark “session beer” -- lots of great beer character but not too high in alcohol. This ale is well balanced, featuring a distinctively malty structure that makes for very pleasant drinking. 5.2% ABV 14 IBUs Malts: 2-Row Pale ~ Crystal 60L & 120L ~ Victory ~ Chocolate ~ Aromatic Hops: Columbus ~ Mount Hood ~ "Experimental" hop Original Gravity: 13° Plato

Amber color. The head started out nice then almost disappeared. Light body but nice cloudy/clear balance. Not much smell till after you have a drink. Then the aroma fills the nasal cavities. Not bad. Redhook makes a better Nut Brown ale.

Dark cherry wood brown color with a moderate taupe head. Initial DMS scents slowly fade to reveal some light roasted malt, hints of herbal hops and hint of coffee. Lightly sweet flavors. I somehow get a musty roasted flavor. I think I understand what they were going for, enjoy it for what it is, but I don’t think it quite works for me. An Irish red/brown. Ok. 2/10

12 oz bottle. Pours a nice hazy mahogany color. Aroma is floral hops up front with faint toasted caramel notes. Flavor is well-balanced between bitter hops and malt backside. Palate is a bit thin, but it makes it very drinkable. Overall a decent, drinkable beer. Surprised it’s a seasonal, actually.

Nitro draft pour featured at the brewery. Swirling amber color pour with the huge creamy head and lace. Aroma has light hops, and rich malt. Rich caramel malt flavor with a toasty finish. Interested in trying this on regular draft, but this nitro is very nice. Creamy, cinnamon like, spice finish. Nicely done.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear dark amber color with a smallish off-white head on there that disappears quickly. Nose is pretty nutty with hints of toast to it. Taste is a little sweet and bready, with quite a bit of nuttiness coming through. OK, but just seems a bit off for me.

12oz bottle poured into an Affligem wide mouth goblet. Beer Date: " Exp: 05.14.15. This just came out recently, so maybe 4 month best by date. So, lets see we have 4 ratings in 2011, 4 in 2012, 1 n 2013, 0 in 2014... well the rating scene in Seattle is growing old. Brown colored beer, not much head. Aroma smells of industrial plastic, metallic, and bug spray. Flavor is similar. Maybe I understand why no one is rating this beer. Its close to being macro level, un-nuanced, industrial flavored waste of fermented malted beverage. Low, even for Hale’s.

Sample at the brewpub. Deep amber color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and nuts. Light-bodied with a roasty character and flavors of sweet malt, nuts and fruit. The finish is sweet with a short nutty aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Pleasant nuttiness, not too sweet, A LOT of diacetyl. Very round. Had it more body, would be a great beer.

Surprisingly strong nut aroma. Flavor is decent, nutty and sweet. Palate is weak. Watery.

Nice amber gold brown color, big thick head. Malty, doughy nose. Malt and sugar taste, clean lingering finish. Not bad.

From tap at the brewpub. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is roasted dark malty and caramelish. Mild bitterness, dark roasted malty, light nutty and mild fruity. Ends bitter and dry.
