This beer is fantastic. I avoided it for the longest time because I thought it would be a shitty oktoberfest style beer. Itís a deliciously hoppy delight. Lots of citrus and well balanced. A very robust amber, in good company with African Amber. $3 pints during happy at Alibi Room. Canít beat it.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle from Bier Stein. Amber pour with a small white head. One of the sweetest smelling beers Iíve ever encountered, all caramel and sugar with a little bit of pine hops at the end. Flavor is full of caramel as well, but not quite as sweet since it has a big citrus and pine hop kick at the end. Solid brew.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle served in an English pint. Nice pour. Deep, dense amber-orange-brown in color with a medium sized light beige head of considerable retention and persistent creamy lacing. The aroma has sweet caramel, fruit, floral, and chocolate. Flavor is both sweet and bitter. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, with bitter-astrigency dominating the long finish. Quality autumn brew. Canít wait for the Wee Heavy to return.

If this is really an amber itís probably the best Iíve had. Aroma is caramel and bready malt with nice citrus and resin hop scents. Amber-orange color, somewhat hazy and a great frothy head that mostly fades fairly quickly but a thin sheet persists. Medium caramel and toffee malt sweetness with a medium high level of citrus and resiny bitterness. Medium body, slick and slightly sticky texture, medium+ carbonation. Hops on attack, nice malt appearance in the middle for balance and a tasty and lengthy finish that has my tongue doing the lupulin dance.

Amber pour with almost no head or lace. Aroma says citrus right away followed by some caramel malt. Flavor mirrors the aroma with a nice finishing bitter for the style. Medium bodied with light carbonation. A beer all amber ales should use as a baseline.
