Possessing a delicate balance of malt and hop flavors and embellished by the distinctive fruitiness of our special ale yeast, Hale’s Pale Ale is flavorful and easy to drink.

Editor’s note: also known as Original Pale American Ale, first brewed on July 4, 1983

UPDATED: OCT 3, 2009 Not a lot of aroma. Orange in color. Looks okay. This has a nice hop flavor throughout. A little fruity. A quite bitter finish. I could drink a lot of this beer. Had a second time and wrote almost the same stuff.

A very hazy deep amber body with an off white head. Grapefruit is strong in the initial nose. There is also some nice light straw smells behind the citrus. A very bitter initial orange peel taste is mixed with some grass. There is also a hint of light tobacco. I would like a little more malt to balance out the hops, this like trying to drink straight orange bitters. Bleh.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a clear golden color with a white head. Has a malty hoppy aroma. Sweetish malty slightly hoppy flavor with some hints of caramel. Has a sweetish malty hoooy finish.

Moderate aroma of citrus-more orange than grapefruit with a hint of piney hop. Medium bitterness with some resiny spruce hops. Good but nothing really special.

Bottle. Poured dark gold with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel and faint hop. Caramel malt flavour, with a hop bit and a light hop finish. Not all that fruity.

Bottle. Pours a clear dark gold with one finger white head. Nose is mostly caramel malt. Palate is sweet with caramel malts and a weird sour/bitter finish. No hops in this one. Medium mouth feel and nice lacing. Was expecting more hops. Not very good.

Bottle. Pours a brightish golden yellow with a nice white head. Nose is malts and hops, overly malty for my tastes. Attack is hop flowers and sweet malt, a nice dry finish. clean and drinkable but there’s a lot better out there.

Aroma – Light malt aroma. No hops in the nose.
Appearance – Golden Yellow in color, Nice thin head and clear.
Flavor – Nice pale ale flavor. This was light and tasty. Malt flavored very little hops flavor.
Palate – Nice Mouthfeel, good crisp texture with a dry finish.
Overall – Nice easy Lawnmower beer. If it is hot outside this is the beer for the day. It will keep you refreshed and with out the oh so full feeling.

Very drinkable. Malt sweetness with hop aroma and hops in the taste. Definitely more hops than an english pale ale.

Cloudy amber bottle pour, thin white head, minimal lacings. Slighty sweet caramel aroma. Taste is full ale with bitter hops and sweet toasted malt. Not over the top flavors. Just a nice balance with a slight grapefruit bitterness. Good mouthfeel. Would be a good session APA. Well recommended.
