Dark gold with a nice velvetty head. Aroma is caramel maltiness with some funky hops. Flavor is initially a nice sweet caramel malt, toast, etc with light bittering hops in the finish.

I get the impression that this was pretty much the workhorse pale in the Seattle area. Whenever we went to eat at a place that wasn’t spefically beer-centric, I could always count on finding either this or Manny’s Pale Ale. At any rate, its a pretty good go-to beer, nicely hoppy and not to filling. I liked it.

Bottle: Pours hazy, amber-gold with a creamy, off-white head. Scent is orange malt, fruit. Taste is caramel, orange-peel, citrus, malt. Nice mild bittering. Very good.

Tap. Pours a clear orangish copper body with a small foamy off-white head that faded to a thin film. The nose is piney and citrusy hops with some caramel malt, but it’s not overly sweet smelling. The flavor is lightly bitter with some floral and tropical hops. Fairly light bodied, but not in a bad way. Some lingering passionfruit on the back end. Really pretty nice and refreshing. Just the right amount of hops to keep the sweetness in check. Nice sessionable Pale Ale.

12oz shorty bottle. Orange-tan color, medium sized patchy head. Fresh, astringent, piny, seawater aroma. The taste is moderately hoppy, with some solid earthy, soapy greenness. The malt side of the equation leaves a little bit to desired, it’s quite thin and watery really. The hops certainly dominate. A West Coast session ale, not bad by any means but not great either.

This draft brew from the brew pub poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were and left behind a transparent softly carbonated golden brown colored body and a fair lacing. The nice aroma was hoppy and malty. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt hops and mild caramel. Delicious and one with a fair amount of caramel malts that I would certainly buy again.

On tap at Hales Ales Seattle pours out a clear gold topped with a white head. Light malt along with some ligth hops. Hey it is a Pale Ale.

Tap@Hales. Pretty thin for an APA, but not all that bad. Some cascadey type hops, lemony, lightly piney. No big faults, just a bit too light.

355ml bottle pours a slightly hazy golden color with a finger of white head that leaves some thin spotty lacing. Aroma is light fruits, light malts and mild hops. Taste is light fruits with some underlying malt sweetness and a mild citrus and grass hop bitterness. A decent and drinkable pale ale, but there are certainly better ones out there.

Pours a clear amber with average head. Aroma is lightly floral with detectable hops. Flavor is sweet with more hops than usually for an APA. Finishes nicely. Nothing overly impressive in this one.
