NachlamSie (1630), Tennessee, USA Mar 26, 2009 Bomber. This is an inky beer with no head. Aroma is vinous leaning with hints of figs, plums, raisins, and molasses. It does not seem too roasty. The palate is dense with a sharp flavor, actually almost metallic. The finish has roasted coffee. This is kind of sour with hints at grapes. Moderate flavors of molasses and dark chocolate identify this as a stout. This is not what I want from an imperial stout, but it was decent. This is juicy and vinous for the style. TURDFERGUSON (1594), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Jan 8, 2009 Bottle shared by ucusty. Thanks David. Pours black with no head or lace. Nose is roasted malts, molasses, cocoa. Flabvor is more of the same. Another blah imperial stout. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Dec 31, 2008 Shared by ucusty. Pours an inky black with a chestnut brown head. The nose is smoky, roasty, chocolate and coffee, mild fruityness. The flavor is roasty, coffee, chocolate, astringent, molasses, rich flavor. The palate was bitter and roasty. Not too bad. durhambeer (1187), Durham, USA Dec 29, 2008 Bottle shared by someone from the Carolina Crew. This is what happens when it gets late in the tasting... Near black pour with small tan head. Carmely, malty, nice coffee finish. sweet. very nice. Dark with a dark head. AgentSteve (1334), SF Bay Area, California, USA Dec 15, 2008 May have been a bad bottle, because this was pretty aweful. Burnt rubber nose and worse flavor. Attractive dark brown pour with dark tan head. Wasatch (270), Layton, Utah, USA Nov 17, 2008 22oz. Bomber
Poured into my St. Bernardas glass a deep black color, some carbonation, little fizzy tan head, with some sticky lacing left behind. The nose is malty, with some nice chocolate notes, and some vanilla. The taste is sweet, malty, dark notes, and some vanilla. Medium body, the finish is slightly dry/bitter. Drinkable, I really like this brew, thanks Toby.
