The aroma started with roasted malt and then turn to a mix of sweet and tart with nots of soy. Roasty and tart flavor. This bottle seems on the aged side. (I had it in Novemeber ’06). Coffee and tart soy notes. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 28, 2006 Black body under a brown head - no lacing or legs. Has a cherry liquor hotness in the aroma over dry licorice, tootsie roll. Acidic, roasty flavor lacking in a sweet foundation. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 28, 2006 Dark thick blackish brown pour. Frothy brown head. Lightly fruity and caramelly roasty malts, cherries, chocolate. Okay, light aroma. Tastes like crap. Sorry. Upfront overly roastly pile of malt, burnt coffee and chocolate. Unpleasant. Too roasty, taints the complexity, if there is any. MIBRomeo (1965), Wisconsin, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 28, 2006 nearly jet black pour w/ a full large bubbled brown head w/ a nice lacing. Aoma is like the bottom of a coffee pot and a bit of sour cherries, smells pretty small for an imperial, with time starts to smell like a stinky sour instead. pal is thin. Flavor starts out as coffee and some smoke finishes a kind of bitter cherry like flavor w/ a nasty aftertaste. OldMrCrow (1188), Seattle, Washington, USA

This one should be called Opinop Andompot’s Rushin Imperial Stout.
Pours a relatively deep black with almost no head. The aroma is dominated by coffee and a bit of smoke; the flavor is somewhat burnt, coffee with smoked almonds, dishwater, somewhat sour, almost rancid finish. I personally prefer a bit more sweetness in the style. Mouthfeel is disappointingly thin. I’ve had this on tap at the brew pub as well, and while it might be a notch better, it’s nothing special there.

Nose is mild with some chocolate, vanilla, and slightly roasted malts. Flavor starts sweet with molasses and vanilla, then some soy sauce, and then all of a sudden out of nowhere turns sour......like sour apples and rotten cherries. Hmmm....i cannot believe this is what this is supposed to taste like. Either it is going bad or they have a horrid recipe...either way..down the drain she goes... atherts (2), Oregon, USA does not count | 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 1/5 | 1/20 | Nov 17, 2006 Very sour taste initially. Not like it was spoiled, just sour. Finished a bit better with strong coffee/burnt flavors. Not very drinkable. My wife spit it out ,and I could only manage about 4 sips. I tried to like it, but just couldn’t get past that sour taste. scoobyluv (486), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
