Bottle thanks to Acertain-Charcoal liquid, frothy mocha dusting, with dotty lace. Horsey with some dark chocolate, dark roast coffee beans, mild dark fruit, with some lactic milky-ness. Flavour is pretty bitter and dark chocolate, good hopping and some fruitiness with milky lacticness. Bitter coffee bean finish. Thanks Andrew!

Bottle. Pitch dark with a large short-lasting mocha head. Smells of very dry bitter chocolate and chalk. Flavour is very bitter, chocolatey, and dry roast. Warming chalky palate. Finishes raisiny with licorice notes. Pretty solid.

A burnt oil black pour. An aroma of toasted malt. A very dry pour with no head or lace. A flavor of burnt coffee with the sour bitter of old lemonade. Not to special. I wonder if this beer is past it’s prime.

A black appearance with a tan head. The aroma is somewhat yeasty with coffee and alcohol coming through. The flavor is rather sour and one dimensional with a hint of soy sauce coming through. Some bitterness in the aftertaste. Not all that great.

Small, fizzy, dark brown head thats gone in a flash, no lacing left behind. Black colored brew. Nose of roast, black licorice and light fruit. Body is med/thin. Roasty flavored, chocolate, underlying butterscotch, touch of raisins and some whisky. Medium sweet finish is roasty, lightly bitter. Props to walt for the trade!

22 oz. bottle via trade with kenb (Beerswap 2.0) - Pours a thick black color with a small tan head. Light spotty lacing. Has a lightly sweet, chocolate, licorice aroma. Flavor is much of the same with some nice bitterness. A very nice full body beer. Must try. Thanks Ken.

22 oz bottle, via acertain. Pours a deep inky black colored body that swallows all light that enters. Head is dark brown and foamy with excellent retention. Aroma is very roasty with alot of chocolate and anise notes and a touch of alcohol. A slight sour mash note as well as some chalk finally. The flavor is more thin than the aroma would indicate. It’s somewhat astringent and a little sour on the finish. Otherwise, burnt malt, licorice, light chalk, and no apparent alcohol. The mouthfeel is lighter bodied for an Imperial Stout with a very slightly oily texture and very fine soft carbonation. This was OK, but really on the lighter end of the spectrum for an Imperial Stout, lacking in depth of flavor and character as well as mouthfeel.

Dark black body with a small light tan head. Sweet molassas aroma and lots of rum soaked fruit. Sweet rum soaked fruit flavor, some light roasted malts and a hint of coffee bitter.
