Oakes (8072), gone rambling, Vietnam Feb 27, 2005 Very dark colour. Very meaty aroma with chocolate hints. Beef jerky & chocolate body with a toasty note. Moderate intensity and thickness for style. A good starter impy. argo0 (6861), Washington DC, USA Feb 8, 2004 Motor oil body topped by a minimal brown head. Aroma is roast, coffee, cherry, mild sweet. Taste is mild sweet, roasty, some cherry, some hops in finish. Medium-full body. hopdog (5535), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 27, 2004 Poured a deep, dark black with an averaged sized dark brown head. Aromas of chocolate, soy sauce, and roasted malts. Tastes OK but not as good as the aroma was leading me to expect. Bitter finish and oily body. duff (5474), Surrey, Greater London, England Jun 24, 2004 Tap@Hales. As far as Imperial stouts go, its probably average, but this is still very nice, tasty. Rich bitter chocolate flavour, sweetish, light roast. Not too much depth of flavour, but there were no major problems. I Like the name. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Aug 21, 2005 (Bottle) Pours a black body with a moderate tan head. Aroma of Welch’s grape juice, apple, citrus, and a hint of chocolate. Falvor of apple cider vinegar, fruit, and roasted malt. A bit hin for an Impy Stout. CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jun 7, 2004 Pours a rich oily opaque black with a thick dark tan head. Aroma of caramel roasted malt and sour cherries. Entire body is an overly sour acidic burning mess. Whatever malty complexities that once might have existed have been overrun by an, I’m guessing, infection. Aroma and appearance are its only two redeeming qualities. I wanted to like this one, but the sourness makes it almost undrinkable. Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Aug 5, 2009 Pours dark brown with a light brown head. Smells of chocolate, roasted malt, some spice, peppery. Tastes of dark fruit, soy sauce, roasted malt, some weird brine like hints on the finish.
