Bottle. Poured brown with a thin off-white head. Sweet aroma of fruits and some malts. The flavor finds a nice fruit and malt blend. Sweet upfront yet a bitter aftertaste. Medium to full body. (Rating from June ’07)

This dark brown ale poured into a snifter with a decent tan head and a fruity malt aroma. There is a rich caramel malt flavor with raisin and chocolate qualities typical to a good barleywine. The finish is slightly bitter and stays on the palate for a while.

(12oz. bottle, 2002 vintage) Pours a lightly hazy amber-brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, raisins, chocolate, nuts, and subtle notes of brandy. Flavor of caramel malt, watered down cola, dark fruit, toffee, and chocolate. Tasty!

DFW tasting 2008. Thanks bullseye! Pours dark black/brown, minimal head. Aroma of molassas, vanilla (thanks to dyetube for pointing that out) burnt malts and bourbon. Taste matches the aroma, with medium body.

DFW tasting 2008. Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing! this was an 20 bottle. This beer pours a deep brown with little to no head. The aroma is vanilla, molasses, chocolate and bourbon. The flavor is the same light vanilla doesn’t overpower the beer. Nicely crafted! Cheers!
