1/28/2010: Haleís Supergoose IPA... Aroma: Nice citrus and pine hoppiness. Appearance: Mostly clear, bright copper color; thin veil. Flavor: A bit soapy and floral; ample bitterness, but soft overall. Palate: Medium-light to medium. Overall: Interesting IPA and would be nice to drink in quantity.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bomber. Opaque red-brown color. Head fades out into cottony beige soap clumps. Some fresh grapefuit hop aromatics, but overall pretty mild. Has some of what youíd want: a thick malt backbone, some nice hoppy bitterness..Overall though, this one falls a little short, lacking some depth, and while the hops add some bitterness, they arenít that impressive...rather one sided. Not bad by any means, and better fresh on tap Iím sure, Iím still quite underwhelmed with this beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle via trade. Thanks to the person that sent this. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a large beige head. The aroma is a nice hoppy nose of citrus and pine with some balancing toasted caramel malt sweetness. The flavor is dry grainy and bready malts lightly toasted. The hops are fresh pine and juicy grapefruit citrus. Mid palate the bitterness is more noticeable. The finish is dry and lengthy. Medium-full bodied. This is decent enough; I would like to see more flavoring hops to the finish.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber poured a clear tarnished copper with a lasting amber head. Aromas of tropical fruit, tangerine, pink grapefruit, light pine and light carmel. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of pine, carmel, grapefruit, tangerine and a hint of tropical fruit with a smooth dry lingering bitter citrus finish. A pleasant surprise from Hales!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy dark amber with a small off-white head that fades quickly. Aromas of caramel, grapefruit, some pine and bread. Floral hops with a strong caramel flavor, medium bitter finish. Good, but not great.
