Aggressively dry hopped and rich in hop flavor and aroma, Hale’s Supergoose IPA is nonetheless well balanced and drinkable. Golden pour with an off white head. Nice citrus/pine aroma. Pine flavors came through strong on this one with a tinge of grapefruit. Finishes bitter and dry.

Grapefruit/citrus hops with a touch of pine. Aroma is astringent hops (more pine on the nose), on a dark amber body, creamy off-white head. Taste is more citrus, with some lingering pine bitterness for you to remember this beer by. Nice.

Had off tap at Hales brewery. Delicious smelling grassy hop aroma. Slight cloudy orange. Sips slight thin and citrus bitter. Middle is tingly carbonation and finishes with slight malt and citrus. 7.1 alc isn’t noticeable. Nice, but there are much better ipa’s to spend time drinking.

Bottled: unk Update: this is not a limited release, it’s brewed year around as far I can tell. Pours a rather dark amber with a solid sheet of light yellow foam. Ruddy. Smells like grass, grapefruit, resin, mint and sweet crystal malts. Flavor is very balanced, more so than I would prefer in a DIPA. Malts up front with dry bitterness and some grapefruit rind. A bit of oxidation on the malts. Medium on full bodied with moderately hi carb to boot. This is a below average beer. I’ve got a couple friends to I recall really digging this beer, but I can’t really subscribe. Not likely to reinvest here. Serving type: bottle 06-17-2012

Tap downtown. Super goose rocks it old school pacNW, sticky c hops, sweet crystals malt, resinous finish. Not bad but far from a standout in 2013.

On tap. Pours a clear ruby red-orange with a thick off white head. Aroma of hop oils, light fruits, caramel malt. Flavor of grassy hops, caramel, hop oils, earthy hops. Hoppy but not in-your-face, mellow, drinkable. 7/4/8/4/14 (3.7/5)

Bomber. Pours a dark copper color with a medium white head. A big sweet malty nose with fruity hops. The flavor is great: caramel, light bitterness, oranges, lemons, finishes with more bitter lemon and caramel. Very nice fullfiling IPA.
