   AROMA 7/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 7/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 16/20
troysworktable (109) - USA - MAR 11, 2009
On tap at Fritz European Fry House in Bremerton, Washington, 16 ounces, served in shaker glass, $3.50 per pint. I assume that Supergoose refers to this being a hopped-up version of Hale’s Mongoose IPA, which, as far as I can tell, appears to be true. Color: Hazy orange core with a hazy yellow-orange aura, topped with a thin white head. Small dots and lines of lacing are left behind. Nose: I smell, in this order: a can of pineapple chunks, apricot, and a whiff of citrus. Palate: The flavors include bitter orange that borders on grapefruit, pineapple, apricot, and a hint of hay. The heavy bitterness lingers in the finish. The fruit sweetness is almost too much, but it actually complemented the dipping sauces for my fries rather well. The spiciness of the Spicy Curry Ketchup and Sweet Chili sauces toned down the sweetness of this ale and really let the hoppy bitterness shine through.

Pours a golden hazy color unfiltered with a nice thick creamy white head and leaves a nice lacing. Smells a sweet citrusy herbal scent, with a little bit of piney grassy notes. Taste is citrus pineapple sweet little bit of pine and ends with some bitterness. Overall another great summer time ipa.

Bottle from the super duper IPA box I just got hit with. Another solid PNW offering here. Murky orange with big white head and lacing. Sweet orange flavor. Reminds me of those candy orange slices. Tasty. A little herbal and peppery aroma.

Dogbrick (4842) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - APR 3, 2012
Sample at the Tap House Grill in Seattle. Slightly cloudy orange color with a medium off-white head that recedes slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, malt and pine. Medium body with flavors of piney hops, earthy malt and a bit of fruit. The finish is caramel malt up front with a hoppy aftertaste lingering. Above average overall.

(22oz bomber thanks to mora2000) cloudy light orange, very few bubbles in a ring around the edge that are off-white. Nose of grapefruit, lightly herbal, fairly fragrant. Taste of fairly bitter citrus rind, balance is a bit out of whack towards bitter, nice oily body that’s creamy too and pretty easy to drink, despite its overall bitterness.
