It was 27 degrees here in St Augustine last night and I couldn’t have picked a better beer to enjoy by the fire. This is one HUGE BREW!! Very reminiscent of a Barley Wine. Reminds me a bit of Sierra Bigfoot. Loaded with dark crystal and roasted malt flavor and backed substantially with a spicy hop profile. The alcohol % was not on the label, but it is VERY evident. I would guess about 10%. Very warming but not harsh at all. This is one to be enjoyed almost at room temperature like a good bordeaux or port. What a treat!

A winter warmer for sure! a strong ale for sure, world class a given. Dark brown, malt at the start, and a nice hop spicy finish that lingers, lovely beer to be sure.

Wee heavy, to say the least. Thick and meaty brew indeed. Has a real fresh, ’micro’ flavor to it. And by that, I mean it definitely has the positive qualities of a microbrew: clean, fresh, and flavorful. Flavor lingers long after swallowing. Pleasant and enjoyable.
