Tap sample. Poured a dark brown color with an average frothy light brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted malt, spice and chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted chocolate sweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid complex brew.

Draft at bistro on bridge. Pours black with a medium sized brown head. The aroma is very light with a tad bit of dark chocolate. The taste is very roasty, a bit bitter, well Hopped.

A dark brown porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light licorice, treacle, light floral hops, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with light floral hops, roasted notes, very nice. 6.5%robust porter.

Draft at half acre, pours dark brown and thick tan head. Roasty and coffee aroma. Flavor has a bit too much ash/roast while coffee and chocolate attempts to balance, bit dark sweet prune finish. Touch too ashy for me.

UPDATED: NOV 16, 2013 On tap at Jerry?s. Pours very dark with a slight red hue. Aroma is creamy spice. Initial flavor is approachable sweet and spicy. Finish is more bitter and floral but not inappropriately bitter. Solid drinkable porter.

Bomber from the brewery. Pours tall, dark and roasty (my 20 oz HABC glass with the squid-owl thing is almost the perfect size for bombers... especially those from the ’home team’). Anyway, thin white head, decent retention and lacing. Kinda weak nose, some roast and the usual suspects. Mouth is much better though -- lots of chocolate, dark roasted coffee, hints of vanilla and toffee, silky smooth and pretty dry with a quick dry finish. A really nice porter from the North Siders.... can’t wait to head back up for Quaker Bridge in a couple weeks!

On tap at the brewpub. Nice smooth porter. Chocolate and coffee flavors that were well balanced and the beer was not too heavy. I could have had three or four.
