COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double Daisy Cutter is a monster version of the original Daisy Cutter Pale Ale. A heftier grain bill amps up the weight and double dry hopping insures there’s enough hops to recede your gums.

A specialty brew. Grab it when you see it. 8% ABV

Bomber. Like DC but hoppier. Ripe tropical fruit. Mango and pineapple. Clear golden orange. Hoppy flavor of fruity hops. Medium bitterness. Sweet honey malt flavor. Medium body. Overall well balanced but emphasis on hops.

Bomber from the Art of Beer in Highwood. Pours an unclear orange with a foamy off-white head. Some spots of lace. Aroma has citra hops and fresh fruit and freshly cut grass. Just pure hoppy yummy-ness. Taste is of sweet fruits, especially pineapple, bitter grapefruit and some spicy pine. Some malty balance, but this is about the hops. Light to medium bodied and sticky. More depth and malty body, perhaps even hoppy body, than Daisy. Terrifically over-hopped. Faint alcohol presence. Very enjoyable - Half Acre has really hit some of their hoppy stuff well.

Deep golden color, frothy white head. Somewhat subdued aroma of grapefruit, citrus, peach, bitter tea leaves, dried orange peel, and floral notes. Tannin bitterness, similar to dark Chinese teas. Lively, a little oily, and almost medium-bodied. Long, dry, and bitter finish

Bottle (22 oz). From Mark, thanks! Clear deep golden with a medium mostly lasting off-white head and good lacing. Aroma is mostly of floral hops along with a nice citrusy/fruity touch, light malt and light spices. Taste is slightly sweet with floral hops, citrus, fruits, a good malt backbone and a light bitter finish. Alcohol is exceptionally well hidden. Medium body. Moderate to good carbonation. Slightly oily mouthfeel. Dry finish. A very well done Double IPA. The Daisy Cutter is really good and this one is as good if not better. Super drinkable and so refreshing for an 8% abv beer. Well executed!

3/02/2011: Half Acre Double Daisy Cutter Pale Ale... Aroma: Big red grapefruit, citrus, pine resin, sweet orange hoppiness! Appearance: Reddish-orange, mostly transparent complexion; frothy off-white crown. Flavor: Honey-caramel maltiness; moderate citrus-pine bitterness; DRY finish (sucks the moisture out of the mouth); Palate: Medium-full body; very smooth; nice weight and mouthfeel. Overall: Very good; I like the dryness; this beer exemplifies it’s name "Double Pale Ale" and does not disappoint!<br />

22. Pours a crystal clear bright orange lit medium amber. Loose stringy white head. Peach and tangerine on the nose. Creamy medium body with soft carb...body needs to step up to deliver this beer better. It’s a little flabby and thin. Toasty caramel with tangerine highlights, washes out into not much.

Bottle. Pretty good double ipa. Piney, grassy hops with some citrus. Nice malty backbone. A bit thin, almost watery mouthfeel. Think I would like it more with a bit higher bitterness. Overall a good, thirst quenching beer.

Pours a translucent copper with a thin white head. The aroma has a sweet candy and king bitterness. Some caramel and hefty bitterness in the taste. Lighter body. Overall, very nice.

Enjoyed in a wine glass very cold. Nice lacing, burnt orange in appearance. Nose is very clean! Very wheatier, lots of Citra and Simcoe. Nice grassiness. Can’t smell the increased ABV at all. Taste is really nice. Uber drinkable, grassy and full of lemon and pine needles. A bit of astringency at the finish. Exceptionally balanced though.

Bottle. Clear golden beer with a creamy offwhite head. Hoppy, pine and citrus aroma. Hoppy with some grassy notes. Refreshing nice beer :-)
