4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 mcberko (4052) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 15, 2012
22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma of pineapple, piney and resinous hops, and some dry earthy notes. Flavour is very earthy and dirty upfront, with dry piney hops, backed by sufficient caramel malt, finishing with loads of earthy dry hops. Love the dryness of the hops without it being too astringent or unbalanced. Delicious.

Bottle shared by MrPickles...thanks Andy! - Pours lightly rosy amber with a thin bubbly off-white head. Smell is big pungent pine and citrus hops, grapefruit and a touch of sweet malt. Very nice. Taste isn’t as good--resiny hops that leave a bit of onion/garlic note on the finish, along with some rubbing alcohol. A decent amount of malt balances it out a bit, but it’s still hop-forward. Too sharp and angular for my tastes, even though the smell is really nice.

Purchased at Half Acre in Chicago, IL, enjoyed at home while doing some work while watching the White Sox home opener. Appearance is a bright cloudy gold with a rich frothy white head. Aroma is very bright with citrus notes, very similar to Daisy Cutter but maybe a bit more of a malt presence. Taste is fantastic, they managed to turn up the volume on the hops (DC was already hoppy) while adding a slight malt characteristic that sets this apart from standard DC. Fantastic DIPA, great stuff, possibly my fav Half Acre release yet.

A great double IPA. Pours from a bottle golden orange with a white head. The alcohol hits ya. Definitely a refreshing beer after a long day. Could have multiple easily.

Thanks to Dan for sharing this bottle. Served in a SAVOR wine glass.
Pours an orange-amber with a nice white head and a bit of lacing on the way down. The nose carries a good mixture of citrus hops along with some tropical and light pine notes in the background. Flavor has a touch of bready malt combined with nice hop flavor and bitterness. Medium body and a nice dry finish with a long bitter kick afterward. Pretty impressive.

22 ounce bottle that poured a golden amber color with aromas of pine, grapefruit, flowers, and citrus. Flavor is pine resin, grapefruit, grapefruit rind, and some floral hops. Reminds me of the regular version but with some more bite to it. Nice beer overall.

Full pour from the bottle. Everything was good about this one, but I still expected a bit more. Great beer still.

Right off the bat this beer has an amazing aroma. Very flowery hop aroma. Huge head on a slightly cloudy amber pour. Mouth is a little thin. Taste is very similar to their regular Daisy Cutter. Nice hop finish, but the taste isn’t as sweet as I expected. I would drink this again for sure though.
