Double Daisy Cutter is a monster version of the original Daisy Cutter Pale Ale. A heftier grain bill amps up the weight and double dry hopping insures there’s enough hops to recede your gums.

A specialty brew. Grab it when you see it. 8% ABV

Pours a hazy golden amber with a small disappearing white head. The aroma has citrus and tropical fruit hops, light resiny notes and cat pee. The flavor has more tropical fruit and citrus with plenty of fresh hops, toasted bready malts and a moderate bitterness to the finish. Decent amount of drinkability for what it is.

Pours gold with an off white, lingering head. Smells of perfume, light citrus. Tastes earthy, floral and restrained with a light earthy finish.

Latest bottle and served in my HA snifter: I will just say this... Juicy, dank, resiny, astringent, boozy... yep it completely what you would expect from this beer. I love it... but I would gladly just drink regular Daisy Cutter danke.

(it is just restrained enough on the dankness I can enjoy it for that is a deal breaker if overloaded)

Bottle to snifter (thanks beerpig317). Looks good; orange with thin, sticky lacing. Smells good; sweet and hoppy. Tastes good too; grassy and hoppy. Mouthfeel is average. Good stuff!

Cask draft at SmallBar Fullerton (Chicago, IL). Special availability and gone really fast. Pours a murky amber with brighter gold notes, a fairly nice offwhite head that dies to a decent film, laces ok overall. Pretty murky cask pour. Aromas are a huge blast of citrusy lemon rind and juice, florals, grass, a touch of pine. Really great aromatics with pale cereal and grainy malts and a touch of toastiness beneath providing a balance. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied, flavorful lemon and floral, grass, weeds, pale and bread malts, cereal, crackers, a touch of biscuit and caramel sneeks in. A nice heavier IPA, not really a double though. Finish leaves a crisp citrus and grassiness, decent bitterness. Bit underbodied, but cask will do that. The hop aromas are absolutely maddening in this beer.. it’s dreamy. Re-rate pending from a 22 oz bottle soon hopefully. Very nice

In short: An uber-hoppy floral/fruity Double IPA that is all too easy to drink
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed very fresh. Bottle sent to me by Sherm1016, thanks a lot Todd
The look: Cloudy orange-amber body topped by a medium beige head
In long: Similar to the regular Daisy Cutter, the nose is very bright and shows citrusy and floral hops. Body is full, plenty of toasted malts with a little white sugar (crystal malts?) sensation. When you stop to focus on it you realize that this beer packs a lot of sweetness. But the hops are so dominant, bright and aromatic that the sweetness is really kept in check. Enormously hoppy, very juicy and bright but not all that bitter, the hops here and like a flower juice, fresh oranges, fresh apricots, fresh grapefruits. I liked it just as much, if not better than the regular Daisy Cutter. It drinks almost as easily as the regular Daisy Cutter, which drinks very easy. I think a Daisy Cutters are basically a Surgeon Scissors that failed med school.

Thanks to blutt59 for sharing this bottle. The beer pours an orange-yellow color with a white head. I get a ton of fruit in the aroma, namely grapefruit and pineapple but there are some other tropical fruits present. I also get a little bit of bready malt in the aroma. The flavor is just as good. I get a ton of grapefruit, pine and papaya. Very fruity and tropical smelling. There is a tad bit of biscuit malt in the aroma and the bitterness is low to medium. Very drinkable. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Very nice overall.

Nose is floral, herbal, light grapefruity notes, crackery and doughy malt notes, and a touch of sugars. Pours hazy orange golden with a nice frothy head and solid sticky lace. Citrus and floral hops, doughy malts, a touch of bread and some pale malt sweetness as well. Medium orange citrus fruit bitterness and flavors round out the finish. Nice and juicy with light sweetness, a solid dry aspect and fruity hop flavors. Enjoyable.
