Double Daisy Cutter is a monster version of the original Daisy Cutter Pale Ale. A heftier grain bill amps up the weight and double dry hopping insures there’s enough hops to recede your gums.

A specialty brew. Grab it when you see it. 8% ABV

Pours clear golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, citrus, grape, peach, caramel and piney. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long citrus, grape, piney and peach finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle… Cloudy golden ale with orange highlights and a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. Big grapefruit bouquet with touches of pine, cat piss and earth. Medium to full-bodied with lively carbonation. Solid malt foundation, but the hop bitterness is overbearing and totally steals the show - the brewer’s intent, I imagine, but not a quality I love in double IPAs. Finishes bitter and a hint salty. More balance would have increased my enjoyment, but still a treat to try. Bottle courtesy of pantanap!

Draft. Pours turbid orangy with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is huge tangerine, black pepper, pineapple, hops. Tastes rich, smooth, with a huge bready malt flavor taking center stage to the huge tropical fruit, citrus, fresh ground black pepper, and resiny piney hops. Wonderful.

Had this during the Backwoods Brewdown up at Hill Farmstead. Pours a hazed gold with a thin white head. Hoppy, gentle citrus. Medium bodied, big hop flavors. Gentle and clean. Finishes up with wheat and malt, crisply bitter.

22 oz. bottle from SecretSanta summer 2010- thanks again, Santa! Pours a cloudy orange color with a tiny off-white head that dissipates. Aroma of citrus, and a lot of it- orange and tangerine in particular- along with herbal hops, straw, sugar, caramel malts, and grass. The flavor is also big on citrus, plus apricot, sugar, caramel malts, straw, and pine resin. Medium-bodied, with a sticky mouthfeel and fairly low carbonation. This is very nice but doesn’t nearly hold up to the regular Daisy Cutter for me.
