We’ve brewed a variant of Double Daisy Cutter we’re calling Galactic Double Daisy Cutter. This version highlights Galaxy hops, a bruiser grown in Australia specifically to make pallets numb.

Can via my cousin. Pours a hazy dull orange. White head that is frothy. Aroma of bitter citrus and slight dankness. Taste is overly bitter with a very dry and tiny bit of sweetness. Definitely a palate wrecker. Not that good as an everyday DIPA but a nice change of pace.

Smooth like a coastline’s fine sand during a falling tide. As aromatic as a dew laden prairie on misty June morning. Plus the label features hipster donkeys exploring outer space.

Poured from a 16 oz. can into a Half Acre branded seidel. Pours a hazy orange amber with a fluffy white three finger head; plenty of lacing as the head recedes. The smell of ripe fruit and citrus rind are upfront. The taste of green grass and juicy passionfruit transitions into slighty sweet malt and finishes with grapefruit rind bitterness. Abundant carbonation and a heavy malt backbone lends to a slick mouthfeel with plenty of body; seem heavier than regular Double Daisy Cutter. A delicious variation on a great brew!

At Ray Ray's in a can, courtesy of bologna tits. Cloudy Oran's pour with white head and lacing. Nose is grass, onion, flowers, sweet malt. Taste is onion, cheesy hops, sweet caramel malt. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Can to taster (thanks Bunker). Looks good and smells AWESOME! The best hop nose next to Heady Topper (and very similar)! Tastes solid and is nice on the palate. Good stuff!!!

On tap at the revolution party. Hazed orange beige head. Citrus dough notes. Pine. Similar to daisy with pine and pale malts. But sweeter with some booze. Ok, I was hoping for a bit more. 8/4/7/3/15 ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From notes. First reviewed 8/23/2011. Poured from a 64 oz. growler into a tulip. Thanks to Dunt for bringing this over. This is a murky, hazy, beast of a beer, I can tell already. Unfiltered golden color with a decent creamy white foam head on top. Retains reasonably well, I imagine it fades a bit more quickly because it is from a growler. Galactic Double Daisy Cutter has a fairly pungent bitter hoppy aroma supported by a biscuity, bready pale malt aroma. Some grapefruit, but a lot of grassy hay notes, a bit of herbal hops, and a touch of pine. The taste starts with a very light honey malt sweetness and some nice biscuity malt. A slew of hop flavors quickly overload the malt. Strongly bitter, there is a moderate amount of grapefruit, with a great balance of pine, hay, and herbal flavors mixed in. The finish has a nice bitterness. The mouthfeel is grainy, a little sticky and resiny, with medium carbonation and a fuller than medium body. Nice and tingly hops throughout. This definitely grows on me as the glass progresses. The complexity of the Galaxy hops take a little while to become apparent, but the reward is worth it.

Bottle. Pours murky orange with a white head. Aroma of tropical fruits and grapefruit. Nice bitter flavor. Wish I would have had this one when it was a little fresher.
