Bottle from tasting. Pours a dark copper color ith a medium sized off hite head. The aroma has citrus hops, caramel and mild toasted bread. The flavor is citrus and resiny hops, caramel, toasted bread, moderate bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel with a lingering bitterness.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 DavoleBomb (1382) - Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 10, 2012
Poured into a snifter. Big thanks to Urbancaver for this.
4.0 A: Opaque amber brown color. Three fingers of frothy beige head. Retention is pretty good and a good bit of lacing is left.
4.0 S: Big toastiness with earthy and citrusy hops. This really isn’t any hoppier than most amber ales, so they could have just called it an amber. Big hit of caramel with a dusty graininess and a solid neutral malt sweetness.
4.0 T: Taste is much like the nose. Toasty and grainy malts with caramel and a solid neutral sweetness. Hops are citrusy with focus on orange and earthy. Very tasty.
4.0 M: Medium body. Good moderate carbonation. Reasonably creamy and super smooth.
4.5 D: Super easy to drink with a wonderful toasty flavor.

Clear red pour with a single finger head with a little lace. Aroma smells like the brewery. Lots of grain with a slight spice in the nose. Taste is sugary and sweet. Mouth is a little thin. Finish is dry.

Pours hazy amber with light hop notes that blend into a generous malt backbone while keeping bitter grapefruit throughout the finish.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 DrinkEmUpJones (935) - Georgia, USA - JUN 23, 2012
Cloudy orange amber color with sticky off white lacing. Citrus hop aroma with candy and caramel notes. Some underbrush and wood notes can be found on the nose as well. The malt is there to make it an appreciated red and there is some citrus to follow up the candied feel. Not too heavy on the palate to over weigh the palate. Probably would be ok with just one though.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 ryecatcher (349) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 5, 2012
Interestingly deceptive. Bomber. Pours a rich amber with a thin white head. This looks and smells like it will be a heavier, sweeter example of the style than it actually is (on the contrary, it’s quite dry and crisp). Caramelly malt and a faint hoppiness in the nose, malt and a low-bitterness on the palate with a quick finish. Decent.
4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 BeerSquare (114) - - JUN 2, 2012
Really nice beer. . .
Aroma is fairly understated, a little bit more skunkiness than you’d expect from a red.
Appearance is lovely-- medium head and a dark orange that is just slightly clouded. Really nice looking.
Taste is big, and goes in 3 main directions-- the "red" malty base which has a nice twang to it here, the sharp, bitter hops that balance that out, and then just the slightest gingeriness. I don’t think there’s actual ginger in there, but I swear I taste it a little.
Note my bottle sez 6.5% abv, not 7% as above. . . however, I would bet it’s closer to 7.
Really nice beer-- probably my new favorite from Half Acre (although it’s really hard to say much bad about Daisy Cutter)

Bottle: pours cloudy burnt orange, rusty. Sand wispy head. Nice looking beer. Nose is strong, earthy malt, pine resin, dark, dank hops. Smooth on the palate, with the red characteristics of malts and then a real nice hop bitterness powering through on the finish. Complex and balanced. Real nice.

Quite a nice beer. Grassy/citrus hops and a nice malty flavor. Didn’t detect much roasted malt flavor that is in some red ales. Big flavor but easy drinking. Serving: bottle

poured from bottle into a pint glass. Pours a orange/amber color with a small head.
Rich and aromatic with aromas of malts, toffee, blood oranges, and some hops.
medium/full bodied with a real nice smooth feel and good flavors of blood oranges, malts, and some toffee.
More hoppy on the aromas than the feel. One of my favorites from half-acre and always a welcome time when they release it.
