Black pour with a tan head. Roasted malt aroma, licorice, notes of chocolate, and some earthy hops. Light coffee, hints of fruit, and some sweet toast. The flavor is mildly sweet with notes of toast, dark fruit, and licorice. Dark chocolate, lots of roasted malt, and coffee. A touch of bitterness and somewhat dry on the finish.

Bottle. Poured black color with an average brown frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted chocolate malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet toasted flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Good complex stout.

A clear dark brown stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, smooth chocolate with nice grassy hops. In mouth, good nutty caramel malt with smooth chocolate malt, coffee, very nice.

Bottle. Chore to drink. Salty, very dry, like a crappy imperial guiness to me.

On tap at the taproom. Pours a clear very dark brown with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of roasted malts with a bit of dark chocolate. Flavor has dark chocolate throughout with roasted malts and dark grains.

22 oz. bottle shared by Tmoney99- thanks again, Tom! Pours a deep brown with a small tan head. Notes of chocolate, milk powder, roast, leaves, earth, and tobacco. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a roasty mouthfeel. Just a well-done stout.

22oz bottle, shared by tmoney99. Mostly clear very dark brown color. Thin khaki head. Roasty malt, molasses in the nose. Some earthy hop. Nice smooth lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish, light chewiness. Nice moderate bitter taste, light sweet. Really solid stout. I like it a lot.

Bomber bottle and served in Bells snifter: Pours a very deep brown nearly opaque with a small but lasting tan head. The aroma is standard stoutie stuff of roast, chocolate, walnut, tobacco, leather, prune and plums along with a touch of dark wheat bread and herbal hops. The taste is malty and sweet up front but a fair amount of coffee and hop bitterness for balance. Earthy and a bit plastic-y as well. The mouth feel is smooth and ashy. A good stout, nothing more and nothing lass.

22 oz bottle from the brewery (Chicago, IL). Pours a deep blackish body, decent haze as the edges get a firm glowing ruby copper glow. Light shows on bottom and edges. A brownish small head sits atop, ring thicker and laces ok. Aromas are gentle cocoa, darker malts, and toast. Dryness, some bigger toffee, toast, and dryness. A gentle roasty quality with mellow dusting of bakers chocolate. Initial is medium bodied, a bit bigger, offering firm silky dark malts, cocoa and toffee. Toast, roast is mellow yet grows slowly. Kiss of dryness, dark cocoa hit the nostrils. Mellow yet inviting. Initial is thicker, toffee and biscuits, black malt and bready toast. Some sweetness, big of chocolate mixing sweet and darker elements, dryness, gentle spice. Middle shows some bread, gentle dryness, black malts and gentle roast, coffee grounds are subtle. More cocoa and biscuits, gentle roasty earth and fuller dark malt feel without getting too sticky. Backend shows a gentle spice, dryness, earth. Lingering cocoa, faint dash of dark fruit dances in at times but never gets in away for a person that doesn’t generally like it. Silky elements, goes down smooth. Lingering cocoa, mellow roast and dryness into the finish. Well integrated, good flavors are firm, yet quite quaffable. Enjoyed. It’s not complex, but it’s an enjoyable winter offering that you could drink a good deal of. A well constructed stout, giving odes to all elements and remaining lighter and dry through the finish.

Bomber to snifter (thanks Tmoney99). Looks good; a dark and fairly opaque cola with light beige lacing. Smells solid; dark malt and roast with a touch of chocolate. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel. A solid stout.
